Many of you are calling for Garrett's head on a stick. I'm not defending him. I'm not even sure he is the right man for the job. I am sick and tired about hearing his "process" bull**** like many other posters on the website. But those of you calling for his head should take a step back and be realistic just for a second. We could do worse......

In fact we have done worse. Think Chan Gailey. Think "The Mad Poodle" Dave Campo. Many would argue Garrett would be an upgrade over Barry Switzer (But Barry Switzer had a much better feel for when to take a risk than any other Cowboys Coach not named Landry or Johnson.)

Fire Garrett, and find the next Jimmy Johnson? That could happen. But would the smart money be on the fact that the next coach would be more like Jimmy Johnson, or Dave Campo? Be honest with yourself. If you really think Jerry Jones and Company suck as bad as a GM as you think he is what makes you think he is going to hire a better coach than Garrett.

This isn't really my position on the matter .... to the Cowboys' detractors ... I'm just sayin'......

So you make a thread that talks about JG's detractors but yet you aren't defending him? Interesting. What do you make of his qualifications before Jerry hired him as an OC? How about his play calling AFTER sparano left? What about his game management skills? In another thread, Mark Cuban says you don't fire a coach unless he's lost the team or something fundamentally wrong. Guess what? There is something fundamentally wrong with JG during game time. He's got a decent football mind but when the pressure is on, I am not so sure he's the guy.

I don't think the Head Coach is the main problem but that doesn't mean Garrett should get to stay after a possible year again at 8-8. Even if we hire a terrible Head coach, the fact that they tried someone different will be refreshing and gives the fanbase a sliver of hope.

That hope only to be dashed by Inept Jerry Jones but still.

He's arguably the worst head coach in the NFL. No one has blown more games in embarrassing fashion with poor game management than Jason Garrett.

"He's arguably the worst head coach in the NFL."

"He's scum of the earth."

I'm collecting them today.

When do we get to talk about his Mom?

I have nothing against his mom. She's probably a nice lady.

Still doesn't change the fact he's been a liability and a disadvantage for us roaming the sidelines the past 4 seasons.

He continually makes elementary mistakes as a head coach on game days.

Because it doesn't have anything to do with anything. You're a deluded fan who thinks you deserve a better team than a Jaguars fan because of the team you randomly followed. You don't.

No, my fandom really has nothing to do with this. A team like the Bills or the Jags you mention might have to settle for a lesser coach because, frankly, their economic model doesn't allow them to pay for a top coach. We don't have this problem.

I'm not a fan of the Yankees but I'd say the same for them.

I don't think he's the problem at all. However, I do think he needs to go. He's not the answer here. The only coach who can hope to succeed in Dallas while the maniac is owning it is someone with enough skins on the wall to force Jerry to back off. We need another Parcells situation. Otherwise a head coaching change will amount to as much as the defensive and play calling changes last offseason.

Let Jason Garrett go somewhere else where a young coach has a chance.

My problem with him came way before he even became a HC. Way back when he came in as the OC. He was shoved down Wades throat. I've always had the opinion that his offense has no flow, or rhythm, and that he is awful at adjustments and the feel for the game.

It hasn't changed since he became HC. Others have been scapegoats, DC's, DB coaches, ST's coaches, etc., etc., but one constant has never changed, the HC.

Here we are at 8-7 again, in another win or go home scenario and we are getting the excuses again, and he should be given one more year, etc. I'm tired of it. He is an awful coach and he doesn't deserve the position.

Not only do the fans deserve better, but the team and the Dallas Cowboys deserve better.

I don't see this team getting a guy with skins on the wall.

Cowher recently stopped being PC long enough to say what he really thought of Jerry and Co and I don't see Gruden riding in either, unless it's just for a sick last payday. Even with that, I think the odds are slim.

I think that is part of the reason why Garrett stays no matter that we get crushed.

Jerry can't admit a mistake, and he knows that he can't get a good candidate to take the job.

So your position is to stick with a known failure?in
And by the way, what was Gailey's record compared to Garrett's?

I think you're a bit off-base.

Another weak defense of Garrett. Most of his past supporters are now silent. Reality needs to set in with the OP.

LOL, stop making excuses. Teams can pay for whatever coach they want, every team is making plenty of money. Your delusion is based purely because you are living in the past and think you deserve the best because the Cowboys were a good team in the stone ages. Period. You think you're special, but you're the opposite of special. You don't deserve anything more than what a Texans fan or a Jaguars fan gets and it's a joke that you think you do.

Now excuse me, I've got to go get ready to watch my "failure" of a team that has a winning record and a chance to go to the playoffs. And you have Madden to play.

I've read stuff like that for years. Can anybody tell me one time Jerry Jones failed to land the coach he wanted?

I think he can take his pick of any of those coaches. He would just have to make the same concessions he talked about when hiring Bill Parcells.

If you want to argue he is better than Campo at least you have a leg to stand on. He is not close to Gailey or Switzer or Wade for that matter.

I'm not so sure about that. If we get crushed and go 8-8 again, Jerry the salesman will come out. He has a lot of selling to do and I don't see how he can change the DC again and think that will solve the problem. We've seen that movie before. He also will not be able to have any FA splashes as well to sell.

Just when we think Jerry has lost it, he always reels us back in some way, some how. I would have never thought that Big Bill would have step foot anywhere near VR. Don't be surprised, or at least don't lose hope. ;)
