Who is asking for anyone to feel sorry for us? We are simply discussing why this team could be in a "better" position than it is now. This offends you?

LOL, please... how are you posting on a message board and you can't even read? This entire thread is a whine fest about how bad our 2-13 team is, how awful our coach is, and how we don't deserve to be this bad because your great grand pappy saw Dandy Don in the Cotton Bowl. "Discussing why this team could be in a better position"... ha! I got a laugh.

It's time for you to go sit back down on the couch and play Madden. You're done here.

The reason Garrett needs to go is because he is the WORST game manager in the league and is suspect with the X's & O's part of coaching. He has done less with more talent than Campo could even dream of. Coaching and game management mean something. Notice how Tuna came in and took Campo's roster to the playoffs in his first year. We have seen several instances where a new coach comes in and turns things around in year one. Now there are no guarantees Jerry will hire the right coach, but we know beyond a shadow of a doubt Garrett is not the right coach. I would much rather take my chances on something new than stick with what is not working.

The difference between Gailey/Campo and Red is that those teams had absolutely 0 talent on the offensive side of the football, and never had serious playmakers on defense.

Gailey actually took Dallas to the playoffs both years he was HC, JG has still hasn't done it.

Betcha money had we'd been a healthier team each year Garrett has had a full season as HC, we'd gotten over the hump and into the playoffs.

Dude, if anyone needs to go sit on the couch ... it's a forum for expressing your opinion - not for ripping others thoughts cause they don't gel with yours ! Easy there horse !

Many of you are calling for Garrett's head on a stick. I'm not defending him. I'm not even sure he is the right man for the job. I am sick and tired about hearing his "process" bull**** like many other posters on the website. But those of you calling for his head should take a step back and be realistic just for a second. We could do worse......

I don't think "we could do worse" is a good argument for sticking with a head coach.

You've got to grade the guy you have on his merits, then grade the next guy you have on his merits and so forth.

Letting the ghosts of the past haunt the future isn't going to get you very far.

And some misbegotten soul has trained you to feel like you deserve more than mediocrity because you pulled a team out of a hat to root for.
Obviously you have your opinion, no one cares though. Because everyone on this planet, except YOU, knows that Garrett is not meant for this. The proof is in the w/L column. I don't care if you're a good head coach, we need a GREAT head coach. I know you don't give a **** about tradition, and you're probably 15 or something, but the Cowboys have a tradition of winning. You know nothing about winning based on these posts I've read from you. But being around a winner, is something you have to experience to believe.

And OBVIOUSLY, we are not entitled to anything. Thanks genius. But you will be the only fan, you and a few other Jerry Jones secret family members, the hand full of puppets will be the only ones sitting around enjoying your 8-8 year after year. The rest of us will be pushing for change.

You don't know anything about winning, you're one of the biggest complainers on this board. You can get down on your knees and wish that traditions meant something, but they don't. You and your ilk are a bunch of fossilized grouches, clinging to your replica fedoras as if it had anything to do with what goes on in the here and now. I'm going to root for the team we got... and you're going to complain about the team we got. Because that's what you do.

I'm still giving you a like because at least you realize you're not entitled to anything.

And promptly booted from the playoffs. Garrett's mismanagement of the clock and playcalling has cost us several games each year. Throw in a high-pressure "bad Tony" game and we never would've gone far any of the last few years.

.

We've won 1 playoff game in 17 years with only a handful of seasons above .500. I'm pretty sure every fan here roots for the team to win, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been alot to complain about over this time.

Because it doesn't have anything to do with anything. You're a deluded fan who thinks you deserve a better team than a Jaguars fan because of the team you randomly followed. You don't.

How is wanting a better team delusional? You don't think Jaguars fans feel they deserve better than the current Jaguars team?

Wanting a better team is not delusional. Thinking you deserve a better team than the Jaguars because the team that you randomly decided to like was a good team two decades ago is delusional.

That's a ridiculous argument. You chose a team because of many reasons. Mine, I grew up in Ft. Worth and started following them in the mid 70s. So for the better part of most decades I experienced winning. The issue is, when you hang around long enough you start to trust what you are told by management and ownership. If Jerry is going to be delusional and spew we are a SB contender then you have an expectation of keeping tradition. After 17 years and 1 playoff win, you are allowed to call b.s. and expect more since that puts you with about 3 other teams. Your idea of fandom is just sad really.

There is nothing wrong with the reasons why you are a fan, but it is still just random. You can choose any team you want to follow, and that applies to then, now and the future. It is not some birthright. Tex Schramm did not give your dad a certificate when you were born saying that you are entitled to winning football because he sold popcorn in the Cotton Bowl and watched Craig Morton throw touchdowns through a hole in the wall. You don't deserve a thing. No one is particularly concerned or impressed that you "experienced winning". Welcome to reality.

The whole 1 playoff win in 17 years is just another magical standard created to make things seem as bad as possible. We all know what happens when you extend that period out a few more years... the argument looks stupid. We are not even close to being one of the worst teams in the league over the last two decades. Not even close. So wipe away your tears, and let's go watch our godforsaken, worst team in the league try to make the playoffs Sunday.

Again, you're missing my point. You are right, they owe you nothing. The issue is if you are helping make them bank then they at least owe you an honest effort in return. You may say 1 in 17 years is arbitrary but it is not when you are one of only 3 teams that bad. You take the Campo years, the Quincy years, etc and we are one of the more mediocre teams...our record in that time span says so. You can say you can expand it but you are missing the point AGAIN...its when the 70s, part of the 80s and 90s excellence stopped and where mediocrity was rewarded. It's a definitive line. If you can't see that, there is nothing else to say. If Jerry never sold us the bill of goods year in and year out then most people might accept a lovable mediocrity. But we have an owner/GM that thrives on the hype only to not hold his own team accountable.

Wrong. You should be like a Cleveland Browns fan and just take what you get. You are not a special and unique snowflake.
