Nice seeing Garrett look pissed for a change instead of always having that big cocky grin on his face even when the Cowboys lose.

I always hated much of the local Dallas media--they were both clueless about football and incredibly entitled on top of it--but as soon as Watkins told Wade he could do a better job coaching the team, they jumped the shark for me. Watkins ought to have been fired on the spot.

JJT, too, is a guy I don't understand how he has a job. On top of his chicken-wing screw up, he's got an agenda, and he doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to the sports he covers.

Amen on Watkins and Taylor. In many ways they are exemplary of the ****-stirring ambulance chasers who have composed the Dallas sports media for decades, as least the drama queens who've covered the Cowboys.

For the record it is not about the number of penalties or our rank, it is about the penalty itself ! I don't hate Garrett also for the record and i do realize players do fight and like him but they need to respect the fact he is the coach and when they do something that is dumb he will hold them accountable and lay into them ( Players also respect that BTW). I just want him to be more assertive when the time calls for it ! Thats all

Brice Butler's Penalty was dumb and at a crucial time in the game and it stopped a drive ! Garrett should have been pissed !

The flip side of the coin

Morris claiborne took a penalty forgot which game i think it was the giants game and he held a receiver at the line ( maybe OBJ) and it was gonna be a huge gain. That was a smart penalty since it cost us only 5 yards instead of a TD not sure if anyone else noticed it !

I respect and agree with some of your opinion, thank you for replying the way you did. Personally I think the rankings are a reflection of something good. Something like that would have a problem in the past.

nothing new. He has been predicting the end of garrett and attacking him since 13.

Basically everyday he has some small gripe with JG.

talked about the owner and gm being honest with the press and also talked about garrett giving the information to buck and aikman about tryon's back in the production meeting.

Dallas media is a colossal mix of self-important douchebags. Jean-Jacques Taylor, Matt Mosley, Clarence Hill, and the tool of all tools, Tim McMahon.

The only worthy ones to listen to are David Moore, and perhaps Todd Archer. Fisher is OK, but he's too homerish the other way.

The biggest problem is that DFW needs to cull about 90 percent of the wannabes from the fray. There are WAY too many people fighting for the spotlight.

Agreed re: Watkins. He was suspended, btw. Don't recall for how long, but he was tagged on twitter about it. He no longer covers the Cowboys. He covers the Rockets now and oddly enough, he's a totally different writer. I wouldn't say exceptional, but he's just your regular beat reporter. Giving information, no salt. no pepper.

We don't know that Garrett wasn't pissed..I watched almost ever game Tom Landry ever coached for the Cowboys and don't recall him ever showing a "pissed off" emotion. His facial expression rarely ever changed. About the closest I ever recall was the "No, Danny, No" he yelled when Danny White ran a fake punt. Just because a coach doesn't show visible emotion doesn't mean there's no emotion. Being able to maintain composure in stressful times is a strength, not a weakness. JMO.

As a fan... I'd love to see some type of emotion come from him.

If he actually produced like Belichick then I'd be fine with those type of press conferences so for him to be non-robotic is nice.

I'm glad Garrett doesn't feed info to the media. Certainly wouldn't do the team any good if he did. I don't depend on his press conferences for entertainment either, so as long as he does what the league requires of him I don't see a problem.

I think it's funny as hell that he's tweaking the Dallas media, especially since the apparent feud evidently started with them pouting over something unintentional on Garrett's part. They've been intentionally tweaking him for a long time.

Yep. Whiny media members di

My dad was telling me that Garrett was pissed and he and Witten lit into Butler on the sidelines.

Landry didn't have to get ticked off. He just stared at players who did something wrong and they knew .. they knew ..

The main reason the Dallas media is upset is because they get national exposure when big stories or topics pop up for the Cowboys. They get calls for interviews with popular sports radio stations and programs and some get television video interviews or audio time via sound bytes. That's how a lot of Dallas reporters have ended up working with national media and even ones working in Dallas for national media got promoted to more prominent positions.

The problem is that the local media has made it a point for years to attempt to appear "objective" to national media when talking about the Cowboys and they do that by insulting and attacking Cowboys players, coaches and ownership, and they also regularly divulge so-called "what is being said behind closed doors" gossip via anonymous team sources.

If the Cowboys and/or Garrett are cutting them off or limiting the flow of information, it's not just annoying to them, it's a major problem for their future careers.

I really don't blame Garrett or the Cowboys for reacting this way. The local Dallas media needs to be reminded that the internet makes them less relevant now and if they want the same access and respect as national media, they need to appreciate the relationship they have with the Cowboys.

misconception about Ed Werder from the fans here. He is always given great access here and players stop and talk to him.

I have seen witten, romo, newman, garrett, jerry etc on the field with him during warmups having long conversations.

I just think Ed has to turn everything Dallas related into nonsense because his producers make him do that. I think its basically an ESPN policy when it comes to covering Dallas, cover the myth or the spectacle first and the football second.
He's just always so negative, even on Twitter, doesn't seem to ever give the Cowboys credit on anything
