I just watched the pod cast of Talkin Cowboys and Mickey had an interesting stat................

Dallas has not won consecutive road games under Garrett, in fact he said the last time that the Cowboys won back to back road games was 2009 under Wade Phillups.

Talk about a drought.

History has very little to do with future games results.

While this is true, a .500 team will still usually have a positive record at home.

If the Cowboys want to think they are contenders, they need to be able to win on the road. A win here is a chance to do that.

Putting this on Garrett is beyond ridiculous.

Starting in 1996, the Cowboys have faced 34 back-to-back road trips -- 68 total games -- and they managed to sweep only three times.

I took the OP to mean that Garrett hasn't won 2 in a row on the road. Could be wrong though.

Whats next? Garrett has never won consecutive afternoon games against the Bengals while wearing a turtleneck.

That being said. Get a win here and that stat will no longer be valid.
Yup, then they'll come up with another one to devalue the team.

wait, wasn't there some stat with the Eagles game? I can't remember exactly what it was but the eagles side was losing 8 in a row at home (now 9)...

...streaks are meant to be broken....time to get rid of ALL of them...later in the year, I would expect to get rid of the following:

* we haven't won a playoff game since 2009
* We have only won one playoff game with Tony under center
* We haven't won a superbowl since 1996

time for ALL of these to go down, and go down hard!!!! WOO HOO! GO COWBOYS!!!!!

(ok, I digress, but these are all attainable)

Considering the success (or lack thereof) at home I would suggest that if the Cowboys want to think they are contenders, they need to be able to win at home. Our shiny new stadium has not be very kind to us.

Talk about a drought.
A couple things:
  1. The Cowboys also haven't lost consecutive road games under Garrett. They've followed a road loss with a road win 4 times during his tenure.
  2. Only once under Garrett have the Cowboys won a road game with another road game coming up. That was weeks 1 and 2 last year, when they got pummeled by the Seahawks after beating the Giants in the opener. Tomorrow is his second chance.
Talk about putting the most negative spin possible on data.

History has very little to do with future games results.

It does say something about Garrett getting them ready to win back to backs on the road.

Before this team turns the corner..road games have to be like home games.

Show me that team and I'll show a possible division champ.

Not until.

It's hard to win on the road in the nfl. If you win 3/4ths of your home games and go 50/50 on your away games, you end up going 10-6. That's not bad.

We're current 3-1 at home. We have 4 home games remaining:
Minnesota, Oakland, Green Bay, and Philadelphia.

I would say we win at least 3 of those games.

That is 6-2 at home.

We're currently 1-2 away. We have 5 away games remaining:
@Detroit, @New Orleans, @New York, @Chicago, @washington

I think we can win at least two of these games, but could certainly win 3 or 4.
