If Garretts offensive continue the scoring throughout the season. More than likely he would be offered a HC job. Does Jerry fire Wade and hire Garrett.
I know it is early, but something that may become reality.

not too quick to put garrett on that high a ranking, have to wait and see what he does against a bears defense and a new england defense, then we will know how good he is

next thing you would have a problem with garrett that soon, whom is going to be the defensive coordinator? we dont have a young defensive coordinator.

I don't think he would take a job at say Cleveland or the Giants if he knows and Jerry has told him that if he does a good job at OC he will eventually be the HC of the Dallas Cowboys. I think he would wait a year or 2. I for one though hopes it is because WADE was won himself a SB and he rides off into the sunset!

If his offense is doing well, you have to give Wade Phillips credit also. So why would Jerry fire Phillips for Garrett so soon....

If Wade is successful then no I don't think he fired Phillips.

I agree and think that is how it will play out. Hopefully that is a few years from now and Phillips has the success to put the ghost of the past behind him and prove good guys can win in this league.

I think you are dead on here: My guess is Jerry told Wade, 'You have two to three years to win a Superbowl, and rideoff, etc'. And he told Garrett, 'Stick with it, and you will be a Cowboys head coach.'

Sounds fine to me.....

Lets see...Wade was supposed to be a defensive expert...thats why we choose him over Norv.... if last nights defense is an indication of things to come this year, then tell me why would we let him hang around two or three years?

The sight of Phillips on our sideline is really disturbing to me.

Well if the defense does not improve this team will not go far and Phillips will lose his job. However this was game 1 of 16 so I'll wait before calling for his firing.

Very surprised if Garrett were to get a HC offer after only one season as an OC. I would think the possibility of Garrett being a HC someday has already been discussed/resolved? between Jones & Garrett. hopefully a significant salary increase will be enough to keep Garrett in Dallas with the understanding he takes over as our HC (within 2-3 years?).
