I doubt this had much to do with him not getting the job -- I think it was more that the Rams wouldn't exceed his current deal - Spags only got about 2.75 a year. Honestly, to work for that franchise, you really need to make it lucrative.

An X Cowboy coach who hasn't won a PO game with super talent as OC.

And I think the first part meant alot.

$2.75/yr for that franchise? Spags got hosed.

Good for Rams fans. I am pretty glad and happy Garrett is staying. Releasing TO would be icing on the cake, but thats not going to happen.

Ram fans apparently have higher standards than we do.

I think it had a lot to do with Garrett having the offer pulled from him. Garrett was probably the favorite by the GM, but not enough to support a fan revolt. At the end of the day teams have to market season tickets.

Everyone talks about what a joke the Rams franchise is, but they've done a lot more winning than this franchise has done in the last decade. Take off the silver and blue glasses and view this franchise objectively and we're the Bengals.

Jason Garrett didn't get the job, because the Ram fans revolted. The fact that he flew with his wife the night before Spagnola was hired to do a second interview, and all evidence pointed to him being named head coach, that is the only possible explanation.

Dallas got hosed last year by paying this guy that much. Jason 'freakin' Garrett, we are stuck with unless Jerry fires him. If he has changed as a GM, this would be a real step in proving it.

I'm tired of Garrett being labeled as a genius offensive mind.

At this point he's an offensive mind but the other meaning of offensive applies.

I'm waiting for details, but my bet is Jason wanted too much $$$. Spags is getting paid less to be STL HC than JG is making as our OC. They probably wanted JG to take what amounted to a pay cut to be thier HC.

There is NO DOUBT that he was thier pick, but something happened last night. Time will tell.

This is useless without a link.

It is my opinion... and all opinions are useless.

St. Louis had stated that they would make a decision by Saturday. The night before, they fly JG and HIS WIFE to St. Louis for a 2nd interview. If this doesn't spell "The job is yours"... I don't know what does. Obviously something broke down, the most obvious reason is money.

Perhaps the St Louis FO snapped out of the hypnotic trance.
