Subbing in a good QB for another good QB on a run-first team would be worse, than say, the Roy Williams trade? Ok.
It seems that Dak lovers are not going to end up dealing with this very well...

Romo lovers are having a tough time dealing with 7-1 without Romo it seems.

What? Lol. What part of "we have 2 above average QBs" do you not comprehend? Dak is a rookie, so he is still more than likely going to crap the bed for a couple of games, and Romo will more than likely get a chance to start again, but let's see how it will play out. No rookie QB has every won the SB, so the odds are better with "2 playoff win Romo" than a rookie historically. But let's see. If we keep mauling people with our running game, either one of these QBs could potentially win a SB. But odds are if we make it that far Romo will be our starter.

Not the attitude I anticipated. Sounds like he wants the ball now, not later, regardless of momentum and winning streak. Disappointing.

Yeah! I wish we had more players who were content with being backups.

He's champing at the bit means he is tired of being babied and running the Scout team when he knows he is healthy enough to be on the field.

The Cleveland game was one that was never going to be a challenge. No matter how you spun it, they just aren't good enough to compete with us. The decision to start the rookie QB over McCown was the proverbial nail in the coffin. Yes, it might make more sense for them in the long term, but it wasn't them giving their team the best chance to win.

What will be interesting is that Philly probably came up with the best game plan against Dak and you are likely going to see other teams try to emulate that. Pressure him quickly and take away the quick pass. It worked for three quarters and made Dak look like a rookie. If Pitt does that and forces Dak into a bad game...it opens the door for Romo.

bottom line is , it is insane to replace a 7-1 qb !
It doesnt matter who is on the bench ready.
If it was rodgers or brady, on the bench I would say the same thing, stick with the guy who got you to 7-1 !
It doesnt have to be permanent, next year is a new year, but for this season stick the guy who is winning 7 games in a row !
No other qb in nfl this year has won 7 in a row, and they all play bad and good teams.
Witten just had his best game since 2013,
Beasely is having his best year. etc etc.

All this talk of tony ready to play needs to be stopped.
If dak goes to 12-1 and then they put tony in, and lets say he takes the team to the SB, will anyone think he earned it?
And then if he fails, that is a missed SB win for dallas, and witten etc.
I would put tony on the shelf till 2017 unless dak gets hurt.

There is no "the guy." There are 50 or so guys, coaches, trainers, etc. that have got the team to 7-1.

yes I know, but there are key guys and dak is one of them. Elliot is another.
I think dak is the biggest key, and all the things revolve around him and his play and his work ethic.
He surprised everyone in ps, when he didnt even play with most starters, and he did the same thing then as he is doing now.
once the winning started players started believing in him and trying harder.

It is similar to 2014 when romo led the team to 6 wins in a row.

me too, but I think dak has earned the right to play this season out all the way.
Tony can start next year fresher than ever, and more motivated with dak as backup.
You're being unrealistic. If Tony doesn't play this year at all, then he's done in Dallas. Period. If he does play, then there's a chance that he comes back. There's a chance they have an open competition. There's a chance he's released in the offseason.

But there is absolutely NO chance he returns if he doesn't take the field this year as a starter.

But to counter your point, I think Romo's 10 years of service has earned him the right to start again and finish this season out. That said, I'm just riding the wave.

I'd say more so that Romo's 10 years of service should offer him a fair competition for the job. If Dak shows he's clearly better in practice, ok. There is no reason to keep the better player benched, it'd go against Garrett's entire philosophy.

Of course....I personally think Romo is the better player. This year. But I'm not turning my nose up with how Dak is playing either.
