And it shouldn't be close.
I thought Bruce Arians was going to get it, but the Cardinals end-of-season collapse removes him from the race, IMO. Besides, many thought Arizona would be good this year because they won 10 games last year but missed the playoffs.

Houston's new coach, Bill O'Brien, did well, but his team didn't make the playoffs.

Few if any - and there weren't many - thought the Cowboys would win more than 6 games. They not only won 12 but won the division and was the first team to clinch their division in the NFC. And the Cowboys - not the Seattle Seahawks who struggled against Shaun (cough, cough) Hill - are the hottest team entering the playoffs.

Garrett should be coach of the year. Period!

I think Arians gets it. The NFL Media decided to forget its preseason stances.

I think you're right. From an objective standpoint, he clearly outperformed. He deserves it.

And that's the same thought that should make Romo the MVP but its not likely to go into effect for either of the awards.

I agree. Garrett is the clear cut winner.

Not even our own fanbase thought we were going to win...hence why we had issues with opposing fans early in the season.

Romo needs to win MVP or Comeback player of the year.

If he gets nothing...its a travesty.

absolutely and today was the sealer because he keeps momentum going after making gutsy call to play starters. If he didn't play starters today it would not have surprised me one bit if team came out flat next week.

Arians was the leader in this race all along. But I agree that not winning his division should probably enter into the equation a bit. I still think he's the front runner, though.

If not him, then Garrett's the next-best choice in my book. Carroll did an impressive job correcting his locker room cancer problem on the fly, too.

Before the season, I said anything better than 9 wins would take a herculean coaching effort. Consider the lack of talent I thought we were dealing with. I won't go back on that now.

Arians will get it. I mean, if Palmer didn't get hurt and they collapsed, Garrett might have shot. That's not the case, and Arians basically won this like 3 weeks ago.

Yes Arians won it when the Refs stole the game from the Chiefs.

I picked nine too, best case scenario. Had a hard time finding those victories. I had so many automatic losses factored in.

I think that Arians will win it, but I said in another thread awhile back, talk to me when he (Garrett) wins out at the end of the season.

Well, that time has come. I think Garrett is deserving of winning the award. I also think that Belichick deserves a lot of votes - many people wrote the Patriots off after they were curb stomped by the Chiefs on Monday Night Football, and they ended up winning home field throughout the playoffs. He won't win it, but he did a great coaching job this season.

Garrett could be coach of the year and Harbaugh looks to be out in San Francisco. Neither seemed possible after their first seasons as NFL head coaches.

Or, after week one this season.

4 different qb ' s for arizona. Still 11 wins. So what everyone thought they would be good bc they won 10 games last year? He did a damn fine job last year too. That should cost Arians the award.? Please. No other coach could win with 4 different qb s
