But, I just saw on the NFL Network ticker that the red headed "genius" is scheduled to meet with the Broncos about their head coaching vacancy.

They also have Spagnolo coming in as well...

Please! Someone take Garrett. I'm sure Garrett would be cheaper than the others. Save some money. Garrett better take the job if offered because if he stays with the Cowboys next year, it will be his last as a coach in the NFL.

All I can say is good riddance to Garrett when he leaves.

I think what some of us forget is Garrett's pedigree.

His father is one of the most respected pro scouts ever and teams do respect his connections and the fact he comes from a football family. He is very likely to bring a few coaches in his hip pocket so to speak. That sometimes is just as important as his own individual qualifications.

Just because he might not be a supremely effective coordinator right now does not mean he could not have the right stuff to be a head coach. We certainly have seen enough great coordinators flounder as head coaches.

Right now, the zeitgeist in the NFL coaching ranks is to go young. So that is what Bowlen is doing. But Garrett is probably a distant second or third in the running for the job.

If Garrett leaves, I have no idea who would replace him. I doubt a major college coach would leave their program to be our coordinator. The only guy who's out there that I would want would be Shanahan, there's no doubt that he can run an offense. The only way we could take another teams coordinator is if we game him a better job, either head coach or assistant head coach. Josh McDaniel from New England would be good. It's pretty slim pickens out there.

I hope we keep Jason though.
