I'm not defending TWill...he should have gone OB and didn't. All I'll say is that executing a critical play at a critical time is not something that every player can pull off with regularity. TWill falls into that category. Some will say he's dumb...I don't think he's dumb, but he did make a dumb decision and I wouldn't look to him with the game on the line. Having said that, he did save our butt in the Seattle game with a difficult clutch catch two years ago. That was then and this is now. Just wish he had gone OB to give Bailey a shot
That Seattle catch was on the sideline, something that was lacking yesterday.

Yes it was. I was merely pointing out that TWill did make a clutch play under pressure in the past (not the same type of play he didn't make yesterday, but a clutch play under pressure, nonetheless). I guess what I'm saying is that if you take the decision making part of a pressure play out of the equation (by leading him OB with the throw, for example), then he might be OK. Otherwise, I would not count on him. Given that, he would be gone at the end of this year. His contract is up at the end of the year, so I imagine he'll be playing elsewhere next year, anyways.

Liar liar pants on fire. It's hard for me to believe anything that comes outta his mouth. Tapper is day to day. Lol. Nzoecha is day to day lol.
LOL I hear ya, LP. I know you're just venting for good reason.
But in this case, I'm sure you know they do practice the 2 minute drill with the WRs getting out of bounds nearly every single practice.
No idea if Bailey makes a record long one for him, but he should have had a chance.
That was on TWill, and Dunbar earlier too to some degree.

I think it's more likely Williams just had a brainfart.

No, it's because he was TOO into the game -- didn't you hear him explain it? This guy is a moron. It's the last freakin' play of the game, good time to get "distracted."

Williams is not a number 2 receiver ... time to give Butler a shot at the number 2 slot.

Glad to see Jason go out there and rip him a new one though.

He patted Williams on the back so hard he may get fined:thumbup:

Are you 100% positive? I could have sworn we called a timeout after that final 3rd down play after the two minute warning.

i went back on the nfl.com play by play to see when we called the timeouts. i remember thinking at the time i would have waited a little bit longer to start calling them.

  1. New York Giants at 03:57
  2. 1-10-NYG 23(3:57) (Shotgun) 23-R.Jennings up the middle to NYG 30 for 7 yards (98-T.Crawford, 50-S.Lee).
  3. 2-3-NYG 30(3:12) (Shotgun) 23-R.Jennings left tackle to NYG 42 for 12 yards (42-B.Church; 59-A.Hitchens).
  4. Timeout #1 by DAL at 03:05.
  5. 1-10-NYG 42(3:05) (Shotgun) 23-R.Jennings left tackle to NYG 45 for 3 yards (97-T.McClain; 59-A.Hitchens).
  6. Timeout #2 by DAL at 03:00.
  7. 2-7-NYG 45(3:00) (Shotgun) 23-R.Jennings left guard to DAL 46 for 9 yards (42-B.Church).
  8. Timeout #3 by DAL at 02:54.
  9. 1-10-DAL 46(2:54) 23-R.Jennings left guard to DAL 45 for 1 yard (50-S.Lee).
  10. 2-9-DAL 45(2:11) 23-R.Jennings up the middle to DAL 48 for -3 yards (95-D.Irving).
  11. Two-Minute Warning
  12. 3-12-DAL 48(2:00) (Shotgun) 23-R.Jennings up the middle to DAL 37 for 11 yards (27-J.Wilcox).
  13. Timeout #1 by NYG at 01:12.
  14. 4-1-DAL 37(1:12) (Punt formation) 9-B.Wing punts 37 yards to end zone, Center-51-Z.DeOssie, Touchback.

You have to wait to start using timeouts until you actually have a chance of stopping them. Meaning you dont call a timeout after first down if they pick up 8 yards.

I grew up watching the Cowboys set trends and innovate. No more.

It's unreal the direction this team has taken since Jimmy Johnson left. And it's clear the Jerry Jones has zero respect for real coaching like we got from Parcells. While not perfect, Parcells sent this organization in the right direction that slowly dissipated after he left, just as with Johnson.

Watching New England perform so well, and win again, while missing Brady, Gronkamole, OL-men, and others is a testament to the hard work of the head coach, the assistants and scouts. New England is always disciplined, focused and prepared.

Jerry has had Romo for over ten years, and has completely wasted his career trying to fulfill his fantasy of being a football guru. The problem comes when you don't put in Ted Thompson time, or Bill Belichick time scouring the earth for undiscovered talent so you don't have to take risks in the second or third rounds of the draft.

His training of JG is a failure, and he doesn't have the maturity to find a real coach and a real GM. Because, as he's told us through the media, he wants credit for building a winner. Wants that more than anything, even winning.

But this team's situation won't change, and the result will continue to be .500 football.

We wouldn't even be .500 football of it weren't for Romo.. We'd be Raiders, Al Davis went looney, football....

Garrett said the same thing immediately after the game. It was ignored in the immediate scrum bashing, but it isn't like this is a new quote.

And I believe they do practice this. What coach wouldn't practice this stuff? JG isn't the greatest coach, but this is basic stuff. T-Will had a brainfart. Period.

I mean all us simpletons standing in front of our TVs with a beer in hand knew and were yelling for him to get out so surely a professional player would know right? Even if they didn't practice it every day, seems like common sense to me. Kinda like wiping.

I don't believe it. No way they practice this and T-Will did what he did. You expect a pro to have game awareness so this on T-Will, but I don't think they've done this drill. Dunbar made the same mistake. Not calling Garrett a liar, but I think he's covering his butt on this one.
Agreed.

It's too tough when your own players are sabotaging the team.

I'm sure TWill has been instructed what to do.

But he fails to do it or even try.

he needs to hit the bench for awhile and we need to move on from him.

A hand full of meaningful catches does not a pro make.

Give me Butler.

When one of the Giant's players messed up, McAdoo got in his face and yelled at him. I see on the Patriots, when a player messes up, he looks distraught. If anything there should be the risk of benching. Williams play wasn't the only one that stuck out to me. I seen both Williams and Beasley get the 1st down and then actually run backwards and lose that 1st down. There needs to be more discipline on the team or these small mistakes will add up and cost us like they did tonight.
This is where a Garrett supporter makes the comparison that Tom Landry wasn't loud and in your face, so therefore Garrett is the next Tom Landry.

Except players actually feared Landry. Garrett is their buddy.
