Gates and Woodhead

If we take away these two options, we should prevent most 3rd down conversions and control the Chargers' offense. Which means our LBs and S must be very good this week. I presume Church is matched with Gates. Or Durant bracketed by Church or Wilcox with a double team. Lee and Carter are speedy enough to match up with Woodhead one-on-one. They just need to make sure tackles. I think this is the key to game, defensively. Chargers' O-line does not protect well enough for us to worry too much about deep balls to outside receivers. And I think O Scan can handle Royal in the slot.

Royal is the biggest threat we have to worry about with Floyd out.

If all we have to do is worry about Woodhead and Gates, it's a major plus for us

Gates does not strike fear.

Got to agree Gates seemed to have lost some athleticism, but is still effective. Scandrick will be targeted by Rivers when he's on Royal so that a match-up to watch.

Anyone that underestimates Gates is a fool. He may have lost a step but he's still a top 10 TE.

My worry is Woodhead. He's their move the chains guy. He could potentially kill the Cowboys on 3rd downs.

But if Rivers hands off to Woodhead and he gets tackled by Nick Hayden, that could be a funny film review on Wednesday at Valley Ranch.

Rivers....Woodhead....Golden....

Agreed. Royal will be their biggest threat. And if Cowboys D can limit Tavon Austin & Jared Cook then I am not so concerned with Woodhead or Gates. And I understand that Gates is the healthiest he's been in years. I will put my money on the Cowboys D.

And it feels dang good to be able to say that again. :D

Gates is back. I've watched the Chargers play quite a bit this year, and he looks a step faster than he did last season.

I want him bracketed on every 3rd down.

I think your crazy. The titans tried to match him with a lb, then a safety last week and then both and none of it worked.

He moves the chains and then catches td's. he made a terrific one handed catch last week while bing covered pretty well.

We have been putting carter out in coverage when teams split tight ends and backs on us.

The rams had carter in coverage a lot last week with cook in the slot just off tackle and Wilcox alone with him in the deep part of the field. They couldn't take advantage of it because their line sucks and Bradford looks pretty awful on top of it.

No way gates doesn't catch balls on gates and carter this week. The chargers have a lot if sideways offense like we do it appears and that is where I fear royal doing to us what nicks did in week one.
