Didn't see this posted yet, and honestly I haven't seen this reported anywhere else. If this is true, it's kinda a slippery slope for him. On one hand it shows his dedication and how bad he wants it. On the other hand it could be a sign of a lack of discipline and maturity... given his explanation of "those types of things make the coaching staff think "he still ain't got it."" I lean more towards it being a passion/dedication thing.

Bryant explodes all the time on the sidelines or in practice too. He seems mature and has discipline.

maybe lots of fans have gotten ahead of themselves on this guy I think he may not make the 53 we will see

Hannah and or Swaim would have to be healthy in camp and ready to go by the end of it for that to happen. Really doubt Hannah is healthy enough to keep Gathers off the roster. Everyone knows Gathers is a project. If he's back on the ps, he'll get picked up in no time.

He is a sideshow for the dry news times. Will be a great story if he ever contributes, and the coach should earn some notoriety. The real game is taking place behind Travis Frederick. We might be witnessing a 12th man for the defense being born. No offense to Taco, Chidobe, and Jourdan but the offense will probably contribute more to the team defense than they will be able to mustard in their rookie year. I so hope I am wrong, but rooks are going to struggle.

It sounds like a good thing to me.

1. He is not blaming someone else.

2. He cares about getting it right which is far better than being focused on other field stuff.

3. There are two basic types of frustration for Cowboys players:
a. The Witten/Lee type of frustration that comes from putting a lot of effort into something which exacerbates the emotion when you make a mistake.

b. The Dez type frustration where you feel entitled to success. The DB always holds me or it was the refs fault, not mine in Green Bay that I was too dumb to just secure the catch before going for the glory of making a TD.

Well, Dez has complimented our db rookies.

For Gathers to throw his helmet down in frustration just demonstrates to me how much it means to him to do things as he's expected to. That intangible thing called desire is oftentimes thought of as a common denominator for success. It's known to be a driving force in one's pro football development for many a successful player. I'm glad to see Rico has it in his makeup and also to see the coaches know which buttons to push.
