The guy is lucky the Jets don't press charges. You can't just cold-clock someone because you think they owe you money or wag a finger at you. Old school, yes but that school has been closed for decades. Liked or not Geno is the QB, imagine if Ben Gardner broke Romo's jaw.

I would have no problem if they did that. The guy should be suspended and possibly brought up on charges.

I am in no way defending his actions. What I am saying is that Geno Smith acted like a punk to get things to this point as well. That doesn't mean that I think he deserved to have his jaw broken, but that he's not a faultless victim here either. And that type of behavior for a would-be franchise quarterback is terrible.

It would not shock me if Todd Bowles is done with him and moves on to Fitzpatrick and the rookie from this day forward.

IDK, Fitzpatrick is pretty terrible. He shows flashes but then he crashes badly.

Yeah, but at least he's shown those flashes, something Smith has yet to do.

Given that it's a new coach and new GM with no allegiances to Geno, and an offensive coordinator (Gailey) that has worked well with Fitzpatrick in the past, I can see them moving on. If they can win some games early on with Fitz, I think they keep him in there and never look back.

If Gardner took a swing at Romo he would be laying in a bloody heap with the rest of the team standing over him. Romo has the teams respect, Geno not so much. You're right though old school ways are over and you cant take care of things the way you used to but I'm an old school kind of guy so I am not going to act like I'm outraged by it.

I'm with you. I'm not outraged or surprised just saying the rules are different for QBs.
