What I always wonder is, if the rookie beats out the vet, that's good right? If not, you have the vet playing at a high level or at least better than the rook. McCoy has been a stud in this league playing on a loser organization so let's see what he has. Go for it Cowboys.
There is a reason why this franchise has referred to avoiding progress stoppers as philosophy for a while. They are overly optimistic. Sure things, even those that could still be elite with a short shelf life, don't fit into that perspective.

Nice guy ... he will still demand big $$$ .. not sure if he is a fit .. still good for 4-6 sacks and 20-30 tackles ... missed games the past 5 seasons .. 31 years old .. again at big bucks .. pass

Fair enough but on a one year deal, why not? He was dominant in a no-win situation. The kind of guy who could kill it in big D.
If he can sign for a low cost one year deal ... he won’t .. he is all over the air waves here in Tampa plus he visits my place quite often .. he is very vocal about not taking a pay cut with the Bucs or anyone else ... just that he will be playing football this season for someone

Unfortunately, I know the feeling. I'm a dinosaur in my industry. Amazing to think 31 could be considered too old but it is the reality I guess. I just remember many vets contributing to championship teams and I think McCoy could be ours. Good feedback. Alex.

Good information - thanks, man. Players tend to overvalue themselves so we'll see how it plays out. I just like the player.

Bumping this thread.

I am guessing part of Spaulding Jones' job as "scout" as he declares on his LinkedIn profile is to monitor social media and the internet.

Might as well try to start a grass roots movement to influence the front office.

Right, because OUR GUYS have proven to be soooo good and untouchable. Yeah, we have a logjam at DT ...... a logjam of suckdom. Right now I consider Hill the only one that doesn’t need to be upgraded.
calm down and crunch the numbers. We cannot invest that kinda capital at that position unless he is willing to take a huge discounted deal. Im kinda with you in a perfect world and would love McCoy. A proven vet would be great...but whats he got left in the tank and at what pricetag?

I figured he meant Boy Scout.

As an aside... The name Spaulding would have got my *** kicked everyday in school. How’d he survive?

Well, his name is not Spaulding. That is a Caddyshack reference.

His real name is Shy.

I wonder how that name worked unless he went to supposedly public institution and he was guided the whole way. But we all know the deal.

That kid sitting ahead of McClay on Draft Day is significant.

He is being groomed.
