Get Felix Jones the Ball

Garrett needs to get his act together and get Felix the ball. 6 runs and ZERO receptions for Felix Jones is totally unacceptable in my opinion.

Ever hear of a screen pass? What happened to getting him touches in space where he can make some plays?

Choice gets 4 touches and Felix 6? I like Choice, as insurance if one of the other backs go down but seeing him as the third down back makes no sense given Felix Jones' big play ability. Im sorry but Choice shouldnt see the field unless one of the other 2 is banged up.

Hopefully it is just cause it is week one, but it really didnt seem like Garrett had much of a game plan on to use our running backs. It seemed more like he was just calling plays to me.

agree here, Felix has speed and he is not being utilized correctly....someone send Garrett that highlight reel on youtube of Felix cutting, slashing, and dashing through defenders going 100 MPH in Arkansas...ridiculous.

Felix should be getting alot more touches, IMO, as well. He is one of the few guys on this team that is a threat to take it to the house any time he touches the ball.....I can't imagine any team keeping a guy like that on the bench as much as we seem to do....we certainly can't do what we did against Washington last year and keep him on the bench the entire time.

He's our AP and we don't even realize it yet....sometimes it makes you wonder that if this team had AP, would he even see the field as much as he is in Minnesota.

Why does he need more touches Barber is the starting back He got 6 carries he also gets Special team touches

Yes we could argue that. And I woudn't disagree. you get the ball into your play-makers hands. On a pass play, you focus on your #1 receiver....who is either Witten or RW.

Just because Barber is the starter, doesn't mean he is the threat that the other two are. I've always maintained that Barber is a GREAT closer.

Exactly, there are only 16 weeks to the season, you dont save your best players.

How long is it going to take Garrett to start using Felix? I would be embarrassed to be the offensive coordinator that only gets the ball in Felix Jones' hands 6 times a game. That is shameful no matter how the game goes.

It took me a little realize that they only had like 51 offensive plays-- That's not a lot.

Bingo. Not everybody is going to get touches when you only have the ball for like 10 plays in the second half.

I agree.

It looked like Tampa was hell-bent on stopping the run. So rather than die a slow death, they elected to take their chances against the pass. Garrett and Romo and Company made them pay.

I want to see Felix get more touches, too. Especially early in the game. Maybe that's next week.

But 34 points ... big scoring plays to three different receivers, and a typically great game by Witten. I'm not complaining about the offense today.

That is a valid point, but not using Felix once in the third quarter is inexcusable to me.

I'm not usually one to nit pick, but I have to agree with you.

We did only have 51 plays and that's gong to limit every players touches.

But I view each play, each touch as gold until the game is won.

I have to disagree with seeing Choice in the game on the first drive. I want to see the plays and RB touch's split between Barber and Jones.

I don't care if we run 70 plays or 50 plays. There's no reason both Barber and Jones should see fewer than 10 touch's each for a game as long as they are healthy.

I like Choice. He just doesn't bring as much to the table as Barber and Jones.

Every time Barber gets the ball, it's a chance to pound the defense and get the most out of the run in short space.

Every time Jones gets the ball, it's a chance for the play to go all the way.

SP's right. I think the team went into this game not to show its hand to the Giants next week. I think that was what was going on w/ the pass-rush and w/ the offense.
