There is nothing realistic about that number. It relies on a bunch of goofy hypothetical situations that either aren't going to happen or are completely beyond the team's control (i.e., Dez shows up with a pen and inks a new deal to give the team cap space because he's generous like that).

Huh?

They can restructure Romo and Tyron, renegotiate Brandon Carr to a lower salary or release him, and sign Dez to a long-term contract.

Done.

And he will win OROY behind this OL.

He better. :):):) or we most likely dont get to the playoffs....

We dont make playoffs, without a overwhelming dominant run game. The kind that gets 3-4 yards even when they stack the line of scrimmage...You know, a tough power back that falls forward and runs over some guys and is always getting yards.....and picks up the blitz to. cant be wrong on that blitz pick up. not even for one lousy play.

There are some good reasons you haven't heard teams interested in Hardy or
even if they like the player...He may only get a 1yr deal in the end from Tampa or
Oakland.

I am looking forward to the draft. That might get exiting.

Anyone else have this feeling or is it just me? I mean Jerry will now be losing money on jersey sales alone. Think about that for a second. I just have this feeling that with Murray out of the picture now, Jerry is about to have the shackles taken off. Maybe I am wrong. But who knows. I do know this. I am EXCITED

no, I don't think there is something big coming, that would make zero sense after passing on Murray, they're telling us and everyone things have changed. If they were going to do something big and typical of past jerry, they would have signed Murray.

If something big is signing prove it, incentive laden contracts with guys like AP or Hardy then I can see that happening

Sound logic. We lose Murray on a very workable deal and now I'm supposed to get excited over the prospect of landing a 30-year old, currently unavailable RB or head case DE. You're suggesting that Jerry should now spend loads of money (I.e. take the shackles off) on FAs, after we just failed to give the leading rusher in the league a fair deal. Yup, these are exciting times.

8 million plus a year is not a fair deal, but sure

Do you think a man who owns a team that is estimated to be worth 4 billion dollars is making decisions based on jersey sales?
Maybe you or I would but we don't own the Cowboys.

Do you think billionaires become billionaires by not concerning themselves with every single source of income?

It's hard to believe but I do. It's a different FO at the ranch.

The only realistic option there is Romo.

Tyron has already been restructured.

Why would they restructure Brandon Carr's contract when they're trying to get out of it? Not going to happen. The pay cut or be cut thing likely won't net any savings until June.

Dez's agent is playing hardball and they aren't communicating right now. New deal anytime soon? Not going to happen.

by this logic then, the cost of keeping murray was higher than the revenue from jerseys.

I don't think that once a billionaire you allow jersey sales to make personnel decisions for you.
1 Jersey probably nets the same revenue for the owner as selling an extra pretzel in the stadium.

No by this logic all im saying is that Jerry is not a complete idiot as to say "Well, Murray is gone, just lost my #3 jersey seller. Who cares."

1 soft drink ten times the amount. That's no joke either.

They're not trying to get out of Carr's contract. They're renegotiating a lower salary like they did with Doug Free. And they can restructure Tyron again if they want to.

The point is, whatever they need, they can get. "Salary cap hell" is a myth for all teams.
