Everyone's favorite Mediot on this board, Mike Florio just said on the Dan Patrick show that GH will only get suspended for two games... That would be nice

One instance where I actually agree with him.

I think that's the maximum number of games the NFL can give him without finding themselves in court yet again.

I am by no means a cap expert, but from what I can tell, if he pans out here and meets most or all of his incentives, almost all of his salary is deferred into next year's cap. If this is true, how realistic is it for the Cowboys being able to resign him? His cap hit next year would be pretty high if the Cowboys resign him.

I don't think this is true. I'm not a cap expert, but Todd Archer had a write-up on ESPN I saw this morning that basically says the Cowboys have to plan on all of his salary being in this years cap. He talked they either have to work out a Dez extension, redo Romo or redo Carr's once Hardy starts playing and meeting those incentives.

I agree, subject to the outcome of the NFL's appeal of Doty's decision in the Peterson case.

The game bonuses actually count on this years cap when they are paid. So Hardy's cap hit will rise through the season. The sack bonuses will be on next years cap. 500K up to 1.8

I think that the team definitely plans to revisit a reduction in Carr's contract.

Much like the Doug Free pay cut, I expect the team to wait until May - after the free agency money has been spent - to maximize their bargaining position. At that point, I think that they will be a bit more assertive.

I see that is well. Wonder how low they plan on asking him? Seems like CB's received some good pay days in FA. Not counting Revis/Maxwell of course. But Williams in Cleveland, Skrine/Cromartie in NY.

Right. Dallas will have to keep another 8m in cap space available for Hardy this year. His cap hit is 3.2m right now and every game he plays after the first 2 is another 580k.

The 1.8m in sack incentives would hit next year.

Yup.

Man... We win Green Bay game if we had him.

This^^^^^........too many QBs had all day to run through their receivers multiple times.

It was scary thinking about how bad the 2015 Defense was going to be exposed after a year of film, and without a legitimate pass rush.

I'm glad it's only a one year deal... Dallas can lock him up to an extension during the year if need be.

Gaping hole addressed. And they did it without overextending on the player. Hardy seems to have had Dallas at the top of his chart.

Signing Hardy is a game changer. I don't think there is any doubt about that. This is THE signing of the off season for the Cowboys. I can confidently say that even before the draft... which is saying something considering how improved the Cowboys have drafted in recent years.

As for the controversy of the signing, I think it is largely driven by weak minded individuals pretending to have knowledge of details of his personal life that they can not possible possess.

The fact that some wish to condemn this man just because he was in possession of several weapons shows how prevalent ignorance is among his detractors. No weapons charges were filed against him so that would indicate they were all lawfully owned although he was ordered to relinquish those weapons upon his conviction and likewise returned to him after the charges were vacated.

No one that likes this signing is advocating domestic violence and yet the media continues to equate one with the other.
