Giants & Jets thread

Wow...that was something stupid our ST players would do. :laugh2:

See, the Jets just punted when they could have tried to convert and get within field goal range. Sigh....I hate cowardly play calling.

Numerous studies by renowned mathematicians and football experts over the years have shown that the statistics ALWAYS favor going for it on fourth and less than one from anywhere on the field and usually going for it on fourth and ten or less.

For example...

This is one from 2009. The common theme is always that coaches fear losses more than they anticipate gains, so they make the illogical decision to punt on fourth down many times.

I wouldn't call it "illogical" because there are a number of factors that statistics can't even begin to address.

Eli has been horrid lately also. He was bad in the game he beat us. Just nobody cares when he stinks it up.

Agreed...yet Aikman last week kept mentioning that he's right there at the top as far as QB's....and then today Moose does it....yet all they can mention is yardage.

Take a look at Romo ALL AROUND. He's in the top 5 in nearly ALL categories.

But....he's the COWBOYS QB.

Jets seem to struggle to even gain 40 yards. Even how bad Eli and them are playing, you know they can hit the big plays much much easier.

You have to go for it there. They only gained 25yds of field position. Quit being scared!

Every time I see Sanchez play it makes me thankful that we have Tony Romo as our QB. Could you imagine having to watch this weekly? Feel bad for Jet fans.

And yet some fans say that "That's it, Romo can't take us to the promised land, time to cut him and draft another QB" :laugh2:

Who relies on statistics more than a Football coach? Only maybe somebody that majors in Statistics in college.

Excellent. Let's get a score before halftime.

The ESPN panel today all said Romo has turned the corner. TJ even said it's the other 53 players he's worried about. I was shocked.
