them to the Cowboys!

We all saw the posts how the Cowboys looked this year like the Giants of last year, we'd squeak in the playoffs and then make a run. NOPE!

What I find interesting is that a couple of years ago Coughlin was sitting at a cross roads mid season. Tiki Barber, Shockey, Strahan and a few others were complaining and running the roost. What happened? Well, Coughlin exerted leadership and toughness and TOOK CONTROL. This didn't happen in Dallas. Coughlin had a relatively young or inexperience QB too, one that had a bit of a choke label himself.

What did NY Giants do. They let the Tiki's go. They let the Shockey's go (or they were injured and non-factors). Coughlin did not let the players run around on all sorts of different pages. They had quite the soap opera going there it seemed. I'm no Giants fan, although I hate them less than Eagles and Washington, but they came together as a group from being pretty low down themselves. They suspended guys and tuned out the malcontents and the coach was willing to sink or swim by remaining IN CHARGE.

The Cowboys team both lacked this leadership and toughness, and did not come together as a team like the Giants did.

We need to learn from what that team did last year at least. We'll see where they go this year, but they were willing to cut bait with some really "TALENTED" players that weren't WINNERS! That is what the Cowboys HAVE to do, IMHO to get over the hump. The Patriots seem to do that too, and are willing to let guys go hear and there that aren't on the TEAM page.

Chemistry and leadership are so important.

Since you brought it up, I am quite impressed with what Coughlin has done. And honestly, even moreso than what Parcells did while he was with the Giants. Coughlin doesn't have L.T. to help him. As a matter of fact, he doesn't have a lot of the guys Parcells had. I'm not saying Coughlin is a better coach than Parcells. I'm just saying I'm more impressed with what he has done with his time with the Giants.

Well, I'm curious as to what a Giants fan feels went RIGHT from 2 years ago when the Giants were at a team cross roads in terms of trying to find an identity. Somewhere along the line the right decisions were made. Not pursuing a Tiki and playing hardball with Shockey etc, those couldn't have been "popular" or easy decisions but they worked. Heck, weren't the players complaining LOUDLY about tough practices and lots of meetings etc.

I would so crazily be in heaven to hear that is what Cowboys were complaining about, instead of hearing how they deserved 4 days off during the bye week!

Amen, Larry.

It's so obvious, I don't see how anyone misses it. The Giants, the Titans, the Steelers, the Panthers... They all do it this way.

But people are so hung up on stats and personalities, they can't see it.

I wonder how many Giants fans had this debate about Shockey. "But he's a great player!" "Look at his stats!" "DCs have to game plan for him!" "How will we ever replace his numbers!"

Yet they played better without him. How is that possible? Because chemistry and teamwork MATTER.

Actually, a lot of Giant fans were fed up with Shockey. Talent wise, we didn't want to see him go. But attitude wise, it was good riddance. And now the Giants have an extra second and fifth rounder plus Kevin Boss has filled in very nicely.

The most important attitude change came from Coughlin himself.
He decided that if that was his last go round, that he'd do it HIS way!

I live in the NY metro area, & that was the talk in all the tabloids.
Coughlin started listening to the players, & in fact, eased up on
some discipline. Also, he decided to sink or swim on his own terms.

This is where Jerruh has made the BIGGEST mistake, IMHO.
Coughlin was on notice that he had one more chance, & results were
expected or else. Wade knows that no matter whats happened this
season, he was coming back next year.

JJ needs to let Wade & the players know that NEXT YEAR is the
last chance for this group.
Hopefully, then Wade will make decisons based on that fact & nothing else.
As for cutting players, ABSOLUTELY- & that includes TO, ROmo, etc.
There should be no sacred cows in training camp.
Everyone should have to fight for their job, & nothing should be promised.
Wade has to be willing to change, just like Coughlin did.
Otherwise, we'll be here next year, saying the exact same things!

I think Jerry and Wade already know this and Jerry probably has let Wade know or will let him know. I definitely don't think Jerry is in line to give Wade an extension anytime soon. next season Wade's job and a lot of other people's jobs are on the line.
