Giants Defense Main Reason to Sign Flozell

Last night was a perfect reason why we need to resign Flozell Adams. Their front lineman can simply be dominating and Flozell has ALWAYS played well against those guys. Brady was pressured all day and they were the key to allowing the Giants to stay in the game and limit the Patriots scoring opportunities. They hit Brady, they sacked him, and they made him rush his throws. Brady was never able to really get in a groove and Moss was irrelevant.

It would be too much of a risk to put McQuisten, who has never started a NFL game, in against those guys. I remember what happened last time Flo went down a couple of seasons ago and our line and team went south.

Get Flo sign and keep the draft picks to sign a corner and running back.

I was thinking this exact same thing on the way into work.

I really don't think the Cowboys expect McQuistan to be our next LT; I think there is a belief it could be Doug Free. I'm sure that's why Jerry/Wade brought in Hudson Houck. HH will get the most out of Free along with the rest of the starters and other backups such as McQuistan & Marten. HH will also be able to assess how much Adams still has in the tank. Most of us would like to have Adams back but are concerned cause he'll be 33 & also his re-signing could seriously jeopardize any offseason moves we might want to make.

All these Flo lovers act as if there's no life after Flo.

We need to move on and not sign players with age. We simply have to get younger and cheaper. There's no way we can afford a 35 year old OT who's going to command $10 mil a year.

We have to move on. Such is life.

Heck, if it were up to some of you guys ... Michael Irvin would still be playing. :banghead:

All these Flo-haters act like there's a player that can step right in and play at his caliber. There isn't. Unless we're forced to get rid of him, there's no good reason to do so at this time. We don't have to move on. Yes, we can afford to keep him. And he's not 35, he's 32. He's just now hitting his prime.

I hope Houck can work some magic with Free and McQ. But I'd be nervous to start the season w/out Flo.

Please..

We totally dominated the Giants front-line in the second game of the season. If anything, we just need a solid coach, and we got him...

At the minimum you franchise Flo for 1 yr and see if you have something in Free or McQ. You simply can't let a ProBowl LT who's basically in his prime walk out the door. LT don't grow on trees!

Let's see the type of contract required first.

I hope we can keep him, but it depends on how much money he wants.

The question is how would you want go into a season that you consider yourself a superbowl contender with a total unknown at LT.

Flo is not in his prime. He can't move like he used to.

You dont know who can step in and play. there is no evidence that says free or mcquistan cant play left tackle?

And as I recall some local experts on this board said the same about Tony Romo, nick folk, bradie James etc.

We just dont know until we see them. We have three tackles behind flo. If he wants too much money, then you play the guys you drafted, otherwise why draft them?

I like flo, he is important but if he gets a bundle somewhere else I have faith in free or mcquistan.

The giants cut pettigout and moved Diehl to LT this year. How did that work out?

I'm big on Free. Was before the draft and am now. I just think he needs another couple of years to develop. Regardless, I think it's fairly safe to say that neither of those guys can come in and play at Flozell's level. Only a few players in the league can.

Not knowing is even more reason to keep a sure thing. Not sure where the line is drawn on too much money, but we can certainly afford to pay him like a top 5 tackle.

Petitgout didn't play a single game in 2007. I don't think that's a very similar situation at all.

I'm glad someone else realizes how great he's been. Like, one of the best in the league great. I think we'd be foolish to let that go now, even if it means franchise time. I'd much rather let Hamlin walk than Flo.

He was injured in '06. I don't think he was injured in '07, though.
