It's funny, watching the Chicago game today I told my fiancee, "I want to see how Romo responds when he's having a game as poorly as this. Does he continue to make mistakes and crumble, or does he put it behind him and make enough plays late to win the game?"

I found my answer today.

You're not going to win every game throwing for 250 yards, a 70-percent completion rate and a 100-plus quarterback rating. It just doesn't happen.

Romo made some key mistakes today. But he battled back for two potential game-winning drives late in the fourth quarter. TWO!

He's a damn good quarterback. I have no idea what today's game will do to his "hype." But frankly, I'm more confident in him right now than I was this morning. Now at least I know how he can respond in these situations.

Umm. No.

If Newman had returned a punt for a score and Watkins returned and INT for a TD, his performance would have been a little more reminiscent of Grossman.

Thats exactly how I feel Dale. He was writing a fairytale. He was earth bound today and still played well enough to Win.

Nope. But it also gave us a stark contrast to, say, the Bledsoe era.

When Bledsoe was rattled and played poorly, he never really had that "bounce-back" moment late in a game, on the road, against a good team.

For him, it was merely more problems late.

Romo merely extended his fourth-quarter excellence today, IMO.

Give him the ball in the clutch and it's almost like watching Kobe or MJ go for the game-winning shot. You want the ball in his hands with the game on the line.

Exactly.

And let's be real, here.

IF we somehow advance to the NFC title game and face Chicago on the road, we're not going to win 38-17 with Romo lighting up the field.

It's going to be a cold, windy day where our passing game struggles. I'm willing to guarantee that Chicago defense would force Romo into some turnovers. It almost goes without saying. They'll do that to anyone.

Hopefully, today's finish illustrates how Romo can perform on those kinds of days.

Every game ain't gonna be a walk in the park.

Exactly. I was listening to the game on the radio today on the drive home from a meeting.

When Eli scored, I thought the Giants left too much time on the clock considering who the quarterback is on the other sideline.

As you insinuated, it's been a LONG time since I felt that way.

The fans might not, but both Eli and Coughlin gave him credit in the post-game press conferences. The people that know *** they are talking about, give him credit - that's really all that matters.

A game like today is what Parcells was looking for from Tony also. Parcells seemed pleased for the most part. That really makes me happy.

This game was EXACTLY what Romo needed, as well as the team. Previous games of similar nature, always seemed to end in a Dallas loss... This game reveals that Romo is CLUTCH, even in ugly games...

How ironic that Martin kicks a game winning field goal for over 40 straight down the middle...

Yup it's official N.Y. Midget fans are in the same category as Philly Eargirls fans.... They lost my respect when they compared Romo to Grossman.

:lmao:
