This is a thread on a Giants message board called:
Re-watching tape: Cullen Jenkins vs Zack Martin.

Below is the first post:

Cullen Jenkins is a good football player.

Zack Martin absolutely destroyed him in the first quarter (Jenkins only played about 11 snaps before injury).

Martin is already really, really good.

The rest of the posts are interesting and tells you a lot about what they think of Martin.

A couple more:

that's awful news.

Funny, in the NYDN Hank Gola preview yesterday, the "Scout Says" blurb was that Martin has been a beast, seems to take out "two at a time". You wouldn't have a collapsing middle with him at RG.

Well, maybe a smaller collapse since Walton would probably still be in there. :)

I'm not looking back. I said it on draft day. I was floored when the Giants passed on him.

As I've said many times, they should have taken Martin.

Martin has been great as a rookie so far. Loving this online.

Very intelligent as well. Later in the game the Giants were holding Murray up to set up a strip and he pushed him to the ground.

Pretty stunning rueage, given that the guy they did take had a pretty good day at the office yesterday with those two scores.

Given the Giants situation, I probably would have taken Beckham too. Jury's still out, but looks like he could be a star.

A lot of their fan base wanted Martin in the draft. It's the typical "I told you so" stuff that we saw on this board a lot when we were losing. They took the WR Beckham Jr., and he looks like he might end up being a pretty good little WR, but they are looking at what the Cowboys have done and they think that it could have been them if they had taken Martin.

I had this conversation with a Giants fan on this board, before the start of the season and he assured me that the Giants had signed enough guys to put together a really good OL and that I didn't know what I was talking about. I thought there biggest needs were OL, DL and LB. No, I was told that this was incorrect.

OK.

Bit out of character for the G-men, I would have thought. They typically seem to favor the good big man over the good small man. But I agree that Beckham Jr. looks like he could be a good one. (I also think Cruz already brings a lot of what Beckham Jr. offers, so they may have been better served looking for a bigger receiver like the one they lost in Nicks.)

He also threw Dunbar off the line of scrimmage and into his pass route to complete a third and long last week.

Well, they're right.

They absolutely should have taken Martin. He was good value there and even better value a slot later.
Beckham is gonna be very good though.

Beckham looks like he's gonna be a stud. I still think they would have been better off taking Martin, but they definitely made a good decision taking Beckham. And his mom is hot.

Beckham looks good, but he will be playing second fiddle to the best WR in the NFCE for quite awhile yet.

Glad they did not take him.

I have no clue who dallas would have taken if Martin was gone but maybe Jerry would have won his manziel argument.

I think you could bet on that one BP. Hopefully we would have traded down first but probably not.

On draft day, I really wanted the Cowboys to take WR Beckham if he was there when they were on the clock. I was a little bummed when the Giants took him. But, couldn'r be happier. In hindsight, looking back, I don't know if there is a better pick in the whole 1st rd than Zach Martin. We may have nabbed the top pick in the draft in a guard with the 16th pick. The only one who may give Martin some competition was Bears CB Kyle Fuller who was having a nice season until he broke his hand yesterday. Although, I only saw a little of Fuller.

1) Clowney 2) Robinson 3) Bortles 4) Watkins 5) Mack 6) Matthews 7) Evans 8) Gilbert 9) barr 10) Ebron 11) Lewan 12) Beckham 13) Donald 14) Fuller 15) Shazier

I can see why the Rams wanted so badly to trade back into the 1st to get Martin.

Heather still looks like she could compete for track championships. I remember her running in the 4X400 and 4X100 relays for LSU. That young lady could fly. :)

I'm getting old. :(

Is this true? I hadn't heard it before. Surely we'd have had interest in moving up to take Donald, the guy they took instead?

After the Rams took Donald, they were interested in packaging a few picks ( their 2nd rd pick and something else) to move back in to the 1st and take Martin. Jeff Fisher said so.
