It's not that they don't trust him, he wanted major cash and they don't want to risk losing him. They want to get a long term deal with him, but he probably wants top 3 running back money.

I hate Jacobs, but when he's healthy, the guy is an absolute beast. If he could stay healthy, he would be one of the best in the league.

I think for guys with Jacobs running style, they only last a few good years - typically.

I wouldn't give Jacobs a massive long-term contract. I'm sure the Giants could find a very RB in the draft, if necessary, to replace him down the line.

Not at all. He's great once he gets his feet moving but he dances behind the line and runs pretty soft for a big fella. Plowing Landry was impressive but I've seen him on the other side of that plenty of times.
