My favorite part was the Giants were making excuses for JPP saying he only had 3 fingers on one hand. The commentator said well they knew he only had three fingers when they signed him. That has to be really pissing Mara off.

How pissed do you think Mara is right now watching the Cowboys set the world on fire?

Not surprising. Vernon is a good DE. Not great or elite.

Watched him in Miami since he was drafted. Made improvements throughout his time there, but his highest sack total was 11.5 in his sophomore campaign. Then it was 6.5 and 7.5 sacks.

Was really blown away when I saw his contract.

That's what happens when you draft so poorly a team is forced to heavily utilize unrestricted free agency.

That's what I was going to say. People get upset for Jerry not wasting money in free agency but to his credit he spends money on players that are highly thought of. Players this team actually needs.

You can't build a team through free agency. You can plug in holes and create depth through it but you can't go into free agency expecting to build a contender. Free agency is the home of the overrated, overpaid and overachieved.

The Giants will learn the lesson the Cowboys have learned. Don't throw good money away on mercenaries it seldom pays off. The road ahead always is in the draft and player development.

Why were they so good against us?
It's just one game. Most bad teams look real good for one game. Great teams usually have some stinkers too. First game last year was between rookies Mariotta and Winston and Mariotta looked absolutely amazing and Winston looked like crap. Rest of the year Winston was a solid rookie QB, Mariotta was below average. You can't take one game into a season. Our fans after week one were in panic mode. But it's just one game. I'm sure we'll look like crap a few more times this year.

The VAST majority of the time, huge off-season spending does not pay off. In the long run it's even the opposite.
There are exceptions.

Yet somehow it seems we can never sack Eli.

he's like his brother, he gets rid of the ball immediately. If he has to hold the ball A) he looks lost and B) he gets nervous and happy feet.
Not sure if we have sacked him at all since Ware left.

And they were not working out last year and hit the disregard button at the draft this year.
Yes because after a year or two you give up on 1st and 2nd day draft picks. And with as many holes that they had to fill the rolled the dice and so far have lost on that gamble.
