Giants' Umenyiora hurts knee, carted off field *Out for year*

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Pro Bowl defensive end Osi Umenyiora hurt his left knee and was carted off the field in the second quarter of the New York Giants' annual preseason game against the New York Jets on Saturday night.

Umenyiora was getting an X-ray and the extent of the injury was not immediately known.

The 26-year-old, six-year veteran could not put any weight on his leg. He was helped off the field with his arms wrapped around the shoulders of two trainers.

Local DC station (WUSA). Taylor had to be helped off the field. A player was blocked into his planted leg.

I have Pinnacle PCTV on my desktop. Also, Blaze HDTV. Cheaper than a big tv set.

Skins sideline reporter says they don't think the injury is serious. Tests will reveal more.
