The Giants site reports he hasnt practiced and his ankle/Groin are giving him problems.

He really helps on KO's and 3rd downs, so this should be interesting.

They have far fewer injuries than last year though.

Asked if Ward could play without practicing, coach Tom Coughlin said, "We'll see how it goes. He had a little setback with the groin. So it has been slowed down a little bit. So I'm not sure. We'll go day-to-day and see where he is. We thought he might get to work a little bit today, but that was not the case." Even if Ward does play, he'll split backup duties with Reuben Droughns. He gashed us way worse than Jacobs did in that first game.

I don't think the Cowboys scouted and prepared for him the first time. He was that unknown just like Ladell Betts was for the Commanders....IMO, we will be prepared if he plays this time. Even if he doesn't play, I'm concerned about their big RB's making our D tired. Hopefully we can put up some early points and get them behind so that Eli has to resort to passing.......Their RB tandem reminds me of Barry Word and Christian Okoye.....

Barry Word 6'2" 240 lbs
Christian Okoye 6'1 260 lbs

Ruben Droughns 6'1 220
Brandon Jacobs 6'4 264

The only thing is that Okoye is a HOF'er and neither of the Giants RB's are near that status....However that combination of size is what bothers me.

That combination of size busted one big play against the Boys in the first game, a 44 yarder, other than that they gained 80 yards on 21 carries (3.9 average)... this was with a big hole in the middle of the defensive line, as our starting NT went out fairly early in the game, forcing his backup into unexpected, extended playing time...

I'm not really worried about the Giants beating us with the run, the way to beat the Dallas Cowboys is by throwing the ball...

Are you talking about the Chiefs Hall of Fame? Because there's no way he's in the NFL Hall of Fame.

He's probably in the Tecmo HOF as well. :D

LOL, I was wondering when someone would catch that.......You are absolutely correct my friend......when I was searching for his height and weight I found this...http://www.kcchiefs.com/hall_of_fame/christian_okoye/

I guess that I made a poor attempt at sarcasm......

I think Ward would be their most effective back against us. As long as they can keep square on Jacobs and the defensive line do their job consuming the offensive line, I think Jacobs will be ineffective.

BIG backs tend to not last in the league. Okoye IS NOT a HoFer. Look back at Okoye's stats. He was effective when noone had ever seen someone like him before. After that defenses compensated, he vanished and so did his career.

I agree, they just need to bunch up at the line and fill the gaps......Jacobs is not an outside threat....My only concern is keeping the line fresh enough if the Giants attempt to pound the ball....
