As a Muslim, I didn't find trickblue's comments insensitive at all.

Did you find him refusing to answer the question about respecting a Muslim insensitive?

Actually......Trickblue's comments about Joe Gibbs are not very Christian-like. I mean, if a Christian finds themselves in a situation where another person has tarnished thier reputation, they pray for them and hope for the best. Real Christians don't just give up on another person and announce thier disdain for them to the entire world.

Well that's great and everything.....but just be aware that people of any faith can conduct themselves with character and dignity........not just Christians.

I don't understand why some people need to attach a code of conduct to thier religion and then throw it in everyone else's face. If you are a good person you are a good person....no matter what your faith is.

Next time you may want to say that a person is a good human being in general and leave the religious stuff out so as not to look like you're insensitive to other religions.......at least in a public setting. Just a little advice. Take it or leave it.

Because I can respect someone for a variety of reasons. For instance, I may not respect that someone is a Muslim, but I may respect him for being an honest person. Conversely, I may respect someone for being a Christian while not respecting his generally poor demeanor.

See. We can simultaneously respect and not respect different aspects of the same person.

And we shouldn't confuse "not respecting" with the act of "disrespecting."
