I love this GIF! Romo has 7+ seconds to make this play, unheard of by NFL standards. He has time to take a selfie and post it to Facebook, with the work this O Line is doing.

Tyron is manhandling JPP. Martin gives up a couple of yards, but Fredbeard steps in and shoves him back to the LOS. Fredbeard was not gonna have any of that penetration nonsense. Free's guy was never gonna get around him, Free is in total control. Leary's guy never gets off the LOS, once he got his paws on him, he was done.

Great work gentlemen!

The timer done by the NBC crew is incorrect for both passes; it was better than what they showed.

The first pass was 6.65 seconds, NBC had it at 6.51 at the same point.
The TD pass was 7.13 seconds, give of about 0.1 seconds error because I didn't use the sideline view, but the replay view where you can't see the ball. NBC had it at 6.94. Too lazy to go back because I already closed the game.

You know, the funny thing about this is Romo's patience. He didn't feel he had to make a circus throw or do something risky. He just waited out the receiver who would get open, and use ball placement to win the game.

Glad you posted that view of it.
Norm Hitzges made a comment today, but now I see that he was wrong.
He can make some very good points at times, but he can make some stupid ones too.
Unless he was talking about a completely different play, but I am pretty sure it was this one.

He was down playing the work of the OL, saying when a team only rushes 4, and you have 6 in to protect, of course a QB will have time, blah, blah, blah...
This was 4 rushing, 5 OL protected, and they did a fantastic job.

Smith blocked his guy to the ground twice.

Fred didn't have anyone to block and after a few seconds decided to double Martin's guy whom he had blocked.

Credit to the Giants coverage there, btw. They certainly did their part - Witten and Beasley maybe were open but they were low % chances. Their back 7 played about as well as they could.

.

If having more blockers than rushers mean the QB had all the time in the world, there would never be any sacks. You can only double team one guy, the rest are one on one, and we won every battle

Did you hear that Bozo that called Norm's show this morning talking about Sanchez being a hall of fame QB? I couldn't believe they let him talk so long, he was on for 5-10 minutes rambling his *** off, I wanted to punch the guy in the face

And their front 4 played... Poorly.

Would there have been a penalty called if Martin and Fredrick pushed the Giant D lineman into the end zone?

JPP was playing well all night, but he got schooled on this drive. Credit to Romo btw - I think the DL were coached to stay in contain and expect Romo to bail. He never did. He basically decided that he was staying in the pocket and either taking a sack or finding someone open.

BTW when I say credit to Romo, i mean that. He really should have thrown it away, but demonstrated trust

I think the last drive the front 4 of the Giants were out of Gas after the running beat down most of the game.

It does appear like that now that you mention it. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case at all, especially after Romo killed them on Dez's first TD by rolling out of the pocket.

Whoever coached JPP to get blocked to the ground twice on the game winning drive should be fired.

Having been at work all day, I have only seen a couple of things on TV about this play, .. but the ones that I have seen have been Giants supporters and they are describing it by saying how much time Romo had, insinuating that any QB could have done it with that much time.

But that is so funny to me because by saying that, they are admitting that the D-line of the Giants got OWNED!! at the most critical point of the football game.

Do you think they realize that?

LOL!
