The line did a great job but Leary was the man on that play opening up the cutback lane for Murray
Yes, Leary is a very underrated player.

Leary also appears to give Tyron a little help while Tyron is getting around on a difficult reach block.

Fred makes his block look easy, but that is a block many Centers would struggle to make on the big DT Mebane.

That was a terrific run.

Edit: And it shows the flaw with the 'yards before contact' talk. Murray avoided a lot of contact and picked up most yards before contact, but that doesn't mean there was some huge hole to run through.

he had a pretty good hole there, but he also made some great cuts. he had a great year, he played great.

What flaw?

Not a single defensive lineman eon his battle against his counterpart.

The hole was what, 3 yards wide at the point Murray went through it? Leary cleaned out the second level. Sherman wasn't going to knock Murray backwards when coming from the side.

This is another example of how these big running plays are more about the blocking than the RB. Seastruck could have ran that ball to the end zone.

Your right, no excuses for the current group of RB. Hopefully 1 can emerge as the lead back I would hate to think that it would take 3 guys to replace 1 especially when anyone should be able to do it

Haha.. yeah, if only the blocking was that great on every play. Being a good RB is a skill to be desired.

I know Asthma is just joking. Free has never made a block like that in his entire life.

You knew I couldn't post that without referencing JP.

That was an amazing block by Parnell for sure. And no, I don't think Free has ever made a block like that. :p

Watch the view from behind. The hole was huge. A RB won't even make it on a practice squad if he can't get a TD with that kind of blocking. Any RB that does not score on that play should be cut on the spot.

Ya I got you. Sucks that this board still doesn't support html5 images bc these gifs are huge.

Don't forget Frederick who dominated his man and ended up blocking 3 guys.

yeah people see different things on same play, I see # 65 and 77 making and holding the block to allow the cutback.
Of course with no vision and seeking contact and leaving yds on the field and being a bum, I wonder how murray even saw the
hole and got into the endzone?
also why would his team mates run to endzone to celebrate with him?
They saw murray different than many fans do, thats why.

Also free was a good run blocker, and after he was hurt , it hurt the run game.

wasn't Free

Yeah, I know. In post #21 of this thread I said that I was just joking with xwalker about it.

In case you don't know, xwalker is not a fan of Free at all and he really liked Parnell. I was just jerking his chain by saying Free made a good play when really it was Parnell. He has already posted that clip a few times in other threads.

X knows that I'm just picking because most everything else outside of Free/Parnell/RT we agree.

Those 'great' cuts are ones that any competent rb should be making at the NFL level. IF you don't take that ball to the house you're getting an earful in the film room Monday afternoon.

Leary was the man on that play, took out the LB on the 2nd level allowing for the easy cutback. Great play all around tho!
