Just said Goodell will reinstate Pacman, but will there be further penalties/suspension? He doesn't know.

--Pacman is a gamble just as T.O. and Tank

-- Scandrick looks good in shorts (thanks Gil)

--Roy Williams is not the player he was. Could be heavy or under motivated. Sometimes big money contracts can affect play. IE, a player gets their money and they then don't want to get hurt while collecting their money....but did finish by saying he's not sure, though he didn't sound very upbeat about him regardless of his perceived poor play by many. No word on any myths that may be out there.

--Tony Romo played well in the playoff game. Cited big catch by Kevin Boss as a key play. Giants were on a roll and Cowboys didn't play to their ability, or at the level they were at earlier in the year.

Good news about Pac.

Roy - same old stuff we knew.

Yeah, but the pessimism in his appraisal of Roy stood out to me especially considering Brandt is the most senior personnel guy around the NFL. I think he still has a good feel for the game and is obviously clued in here. I had hoped he would surprise me with some sunshine...

thanks dc. hey who is #40 and if it's not scandrick what number is he? Gil knows Roy is a chump and is gonna start holding this team back if jerry doesn't find a replacement soon.

40 = Justin Phinisee

32 = Scandrick

Well Romo didnt play well and it definitely wasnt like the Giants came in and rolled over us, they barely won the game

the Boss play was no more critical than some of the others...like Caryton's drop, Romo missing two or three really easy throws, Henry blowing that tackle on the opening TD etc etc

Well, Romo played well enough to win, I would agree with Gil on that score, and by "on a roll" he meant they had momentum, not that they blew us out. That is also accurate.

Gil has more insight into this league and it's players than any other human on the face of the Earth. His recall is simply amazing and his understanding of todays NFL is right on. I love to hear "The Godfather" on Sirius. I have called him a few times and talked old time Cowboys with him. Some great info.

He told me once that the one player they missed on and really wanted was Jan Stenerud. They had a deal in place but Jan wanted like 10 first class tickets to Sweden or wherever he was from each year to visit his family and that was the deal breaker for the Cowboys.

he didnt play well enough to win, because we didnt win...you hold the other team to 230 yds total offense and under 100 yds rushing at home, you expect to win the game...we lost another playoff game because the offense stunk

he had the ball twice at the end of the agme with a chance to get us in the endzone and could do it...he missed a number of easy ones

I'm not pinning him alone with the loss, as he was one of several who played poorly...but he was a big reason, along with TO being far less than a 100% and the OL really not being good in the 4th qtr...the defense for the most part was very good, but a few lapses hurt us...there's enough blame to call it a team loss
