  1. He wants a shorter deal, not a longer one.
  2. The deal offered to him was HIGHER than Mahomes' for the first 5 year period defined.
As for your personal opinion of where he ranks.
I won't argue that either way, but it is just your opinion.

Two large NFL human-based sources have rated QBs this offseason
  • 50 GMs and scouts rated Dak 12th
  • The NFL players that participated in the NFL Top 100 rated Dak 9th
Either way, it's too late to offer Dak a deal this year. Deadline passed.

Not arguing if they are right or wrong, but GMs, Scouts, and Players have their biases too and have had some head scratchers in their rankings. Unless you established agreed upon metrics to measure, it will always be opinion based.

My 2 brothers are big NY Giants fans and when I tell them what Dak may get soon they say "Pay him". That should tell you something.

Dang. What other gems have they given you? Why are you holding out on us.

as for the rest of the thread, Dak wanting a shorter deal @ 35 doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be interested in a longer deal @ 50. I’m not weighing in either way, just that they’re not exactly comparable

Frankly I'm pulling for Dak to put up big numbers and help this team to a championship, if he does then he will clearly be in the driver seat in his contract demands. I see this as a pressure season for Dak, good will not get him a great contract but a great season and a championship to back it up will.

Mahomes year one as starter, lost in AFC championship game.

Year two, won Super Bowl.

The Chiefs know what they have.

Prescott four years has won ONE playoff game.

Dallas doesn't know what they have.

But the suggestion is to match the highest contract in sports history.

Super Genius!

People in here really think Dak wouldn't take that deal

Hahahahaha..are you guys brain dead or what?

Dak here's a 5 year deal for 100m per year

"Nope. Dak won't do it. He doesn't want a 5 year deal.."

Talk about stupid lol

To judge the value of Dak around the league, here's a fair question..Say team "A" has the first pick in the draft and Dallas offers 2 first rounders, 2 second rounders and Dak Prescott for that #1 overall pick..Would team "A" make that trade?? Makes you think, eh.

and be done with it.

Guy is a top 7 QB in the league and top 3-5 if you remove those that are close to retirement (Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger, etc;)
Bro he wouldn't sign it, he wants a short term deal which the problem amd hold up

The contract is a top 2 or 3 contract for Dak. Yet he turned it down. Seems like he wanted the same amount with 1 less year.

Dak is a good QB. But we can argue all day whether he is top 5 or top 10, etc.

I'm disappointed he turned it down. It is more than fair what he was offered and it seems he would rather get more money elsewhere then be a team player.

Dak just needed to sign. He could always hold out in the 5th year.
The FO would have went back to the table with him after year 3 or 4. They wanted to use the 5th year to extend him and spread the money out on the next contract if there was to be one. That should have told Dak they want him for the long haul...

First of all yes, he DOES want more, because he rejected more.

I think he himself realized that a bit too late and is hoping to not fall out of grace w the fans (endorsements).

Also its a bit of apples and oranges because one played out his entire rookie deal, and one did not.

Difference being one franchise wasted one on puppet experiments, and the other did not.

it's sad that people here don't want another super bowl appearance.

I think he should take the option to opt out for the season. :)
