and not Myles Austin on that hit on the sideline last night. Never like to see ANYONE get hurt, but can you imagine if he would've snapped Austin's leg instead of Doughty's? We would've been screwed; that was as violent a hit as I've seen all year: Free has a nice little mean streak in him, which is all the more reason I think we've found a real gem in this guy...........

Yeah...not the type to wish injuries on anyone outside of Nicholas Cage or Brandon Jacobs, but after that hit....I have to admit I was a little pumped up. That is a beautiful thing when your lineman have that type of anger. I'm loving Free right now. Some people, and they know who they are, deserve a healthy plate of crow concerning that young man.

he moves a lot better than colombo, if he gets the strength up he can replace flo after next season.

DOUG FREE is awesome! They haven't missed a beat. They may be able to use that draft pick on offense line and bring them on gradually which is ideal thing to do.

Hopefully he can get a bit stronger and next season he can take Flo's place. That would be a nice Tackle combination for next season between him and Colombo. Of course this team still needs to make a serious effort to draft some O-Line depth in the absolute worst way.

I don't think Free is a LT, he could prove me wrong.

Every scouting report coming out of college says otherwise. His strength was the only issue.

Everything I've seen on the field says otherwise too.

He might not be ready yet, but I think he will be, and soon.

At worst, he finally gives us some of that O-Line depth that was so elusive for so long.

Can anyone here speak intelligently to the differences between RT and LT? Yeah, we all know that the LT protects the Qb's blind side, faces the best pass rushers and of course need to be the best combo of speed and strength on the oline....but what kind of technique does Free lack that could prohibit him from switching to LT?: btw...I'm NOT a Flo basher: think he's been very good minus the maddening false start issues that Jason Witten of all people seems to have caught from him!!!!!!!

Everything I've ever read about him when he was drafted was that he's expected to be a LT. That's where he played in college and he's got much of his work with the Cowboys at LT. I'm sure in the offseason the Cowboys will spend a lot of time with Free so he can develop as much strength in his legs & upper body as he can get. Hopefully it will be enough to win that LT job soon but we also need more quality backups cause Free's the only young OL we got whose got a real & legit chance to start someday soon.

I think Doug Free's theme song should be by the band Free's "All Right Now." It's amazing what we can do with guys who "Experts" in the NFL thought would suck according to them.

He will not get much stronger if at all after THREE YEARS IN A PROFESSIONAL WEIGHT PROGRAM. He MUST refine his technique (or more honestly learn better how to hold without getting caught). Hand and arm movement, how to balance and move, and so on.

IF he does have a mean streak that is a very good thing. Colombo was the ONLY guy who had one up to now. I would love to have 5 mean vicious and nasty guys on the O line.

There was a pass play where Jenkins was trying to make a tackle and Sensabaugh laid the wood down and the receiver ducked under his shoulder pad.

It hit Jenkins and sent him flying out of the picture.

Remember that?

Then Sensabaugh leapt up and started toward where Jenkins was - which was off-screen.

My heart was in my throat until I saw Jenkins trotting to the defensive huddle.

I like the fire in our players and hitting and knocking people down.

I like it better when the people are the other guys.

He can get stronger, but I agree, it won't be by leaps and bounds. What he needs to do is learn how to use what strength he has...better. He needs to improve his technique and leverage.

His footwork is what gets me excited. His feet are FAST...

Great footwork, bad temperament on the field, and if he learns to use his strength better = future NFLN left tackle.

That's why he putting these licks on people. The guy is 300lb+ but he doesn't move like a 300lb. He gets up a head of steam, and then good old physics kicks in.

I think he's a really good RT, Colombo might have a hard time beating him out next year.

We had at least three in that game alone. Obviously Free's hit, but also Scandrick crushed Campbell and Ratliff buried Campbell too.

I bet Campbell feels like he has been run over by a convoy of Mac trucks this morning!
