Sources: Cowboys to get Pacman from Titansby Jay Glazer
Pacman Jones has yet to be reinstated by the NFL. If he does, he'll be playing for a different team.

The Cowboys and Titans have a deal in place that would send the oft-troubled cornerback and return specialist to Dallas in exchange for a 4th-round pick at this Saturday's draft, sources told FOXSports.com. If Jones is reinstated and plays for the Cowboys this year, then Dallas will also send a 6th-round pick to Tennessee in 2009.
If commissioner Roger Goodell chooses not to reinstate Jones, the Titans would have to send Dallas a 4th-round pick in 2009.
The Cowboys and Jones also have worked out the terms of a new 4-year deal that would take effect upon Pacman being reinstated to the league.

This is a good deal for the Cowboys. A pro-bowl punt returner and a very good corner. A huge upgrade over Reeves.

Sounds like the downside is extremely low. If The Pac-Man doesn't get back in, we get our 4th back. If he does well, we could owe an additional 6th.

Let's see what the contract is, but if it's low salary, modest incentives and practically no signing bonus, I think we've got a low risk look at a potentially very good player.

That 4th this year will be easy to recoup by trading down and we should get 2-3 comp picks in the 5th-6th round area next year so when all is said and done we could have Pacman basically for free.

Glazer has pretty good sources. Sounds like a deal that Jerry Jones (and Stephen) felt comfortable with.

I would think its going to be minimum base pay with incentives that could get the value back to his old contract.

is it me or if we finish with a better record than tennessee, then say he doesn't work out and we get their 4th back, won't we in effect be moving up in the draft to take that chance to begin with?

Pacman is a quality character addition to America's team! Way to go!

At least you correctly noted that we are America's Team instead of America's joke: the Commanders.

How's your pathetic franchise doing these days?

Call me when you can win more than one Super Bowl in a non-strike-shortened season.

Signing a new deal is the best part because if he pans out, he would have been in for a big pay day. Signing him now, the Cowboys have all the leverage and the price should be much more reasonable. If he straightens out, then this day will be remembered for a long time. Shut down corners dont grow on trees.

I'm thinking the new deal will be full of roster bonuses in upcoming years that allows the Cowboys to cover their risk, but offers Pac Man a nice raise if he behaves.

Thinking about it, if hes not reinstated, the 4th round pick we get will most likely be a higher pick than the one we send to the Titans right now.

Though, chances are (Hopefully) he is reinstated, and if he can keep his head on straight, we got a great deal out of this trade. I think he can to, its his last chance and he wants to play for us

Man, I'm REALLY excited right now. If we could get Roy Williams too, then we have 3 problems fixed. Cornerback, receiver, and punt return. In the draft maybe we could draft Felix Jones and fix two more problems, in kick return and runningback? Or, for another option, maybe Jamaal Charles in the second if hes there? Man, so many options.

Patriots who?

It's no you . . . you are exactly right. If we play better than the Titans and Pacman does not get reinstated, it's almost as if Tennesee paid us to take him off their hands. We will get a higher 4th round pick than the one we gave up in 2008.

That's actually a sweet deal.
