The Eagles have acquired Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters from the Bills for the 28th overall pick in next week's draft, FOXSports.com has learned.

Buffalo will also receive a second-day pick in this year's draft, as well as a late-round pick in the 2010 draft.

Peters held out before the start of the 2008 season, missing Buffalo's entire training camp and all four of the team's preseason games. Peters ended his holdout before the regular season began, with the Bills never giving in to his contract demans.

Peters, 27, has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons, and was an All-Pro selection in 2007.

Is Peters that bad? You usually don't trade away a young Pro Bowl LT . . . .

Which Jason Peters do they get? THe one who dominated in 2007 or the one who mailed it in in 2008? There's no denying his talent, but he has not been much of a team guy. This could, however, be a great pickup for Philly if he pans out.

He is a very good player, he has motivation issues though from what I have read.

I remember bill belichick was asked about kerry rhodes, peters and whitner one time and He said something to the effect that they were not good enough to start on his teams...not sure why he said that or what he is implying.

side note. Didnt buffalo bill go to north america because the qb doesnt get sacked much? Oops.

oh one more thing, this must hurt their chances of getting boldin.

and this too, if they got a franchise left tackle for less than we got roy williams I am going to be mad.

Whoa, really?

It's funny to me that we've purged most of the bad actors, and the Eagles just got one. They also picked up Desean Jackson, and you also hear about them possibly getting Ocho Cinco, too.

I thought they were all about good character? Makes you wonder if they aren't panicking a little knowing that McFlabb's window is closing fast.

I was thinking the same thing regarding Boldin.

Hopefully that's the end of that discussion!

I'm not going to hate on the acquisition because if you can pick up a 27 year old Pro Bowl Left Tackle for a low first you do it - no doubt.

But I don't understand it from an Eagles FO perspective. Here's a guy who hates his contract, coming to a team that does not ever give in to contract demands from players. No doubt they'll give him a new deal, but a guy like this isn't going to just be unhappy once.

My fingers are crossed. If he turns out to be that guy which I think he has a really good chance to be, then we will never have to talk about the picks again.

its just that left tackles are really hard to find.

Depends on if this guy stays motivated. BUT I do think this pretty much ends any chance of them going after Bolden. WHich is good.

Peters is so good that he once held DeMarcus Ware to 1.5 sacks in a game.

Probably weird for him. He's from the small town I used to live in so I saw him play several times in high school and worked with members of his family. He is a diehard Cowboy fan.

Obviously money helps things, but I'm sure it's a strange feeling for him...

I think it's good news, means no Boldin and Peters has serious character and motivation issues from what is being said.

Thats the thing, you've got to squeeze money out of the Eagles FO. Wonder what other teams were interested.

Solid Pickup for the Eagles....

They had some big concerns on thier OL and this offseason they picked up two quality players.......and they are young too.

On a side note, this may also mean that if D Robinson slips in the Draft, it's unlikely the Eagles will use another top pick on an OL in Round 2.

If we don't take Duke at 51, and he happens to slip, maybe JJ will be inclined to move up and take him (in Round 3 or into end of Round 2)? (wishful thinking on my part)

Tremendous talent, ten cent brain.

Moves like this often don't work out. I hope this one doesn't.

NFLN has confirmed that this has been agreed to in principle.

Peters was ticketed at U of A for taking a leak in an alley on his way home from going out one night, and it cost him dearly in the draft...

I don't think he's been in trouble...

I'm glad they aren't getting Boldin now, though...
