With this defense, I think it's a close game. But I can see a scenario where the Cowboys blowout the Raiders and fans start rallying.

Meh, of course, this is just the homer in me talking. But I'm also a realist and unless we have big changes on defense, I just can't see us getting her done for the playoffs this year even if we do beat da Raiders.

The glimmer of hope died last night when the Eagle d-line stuffed the Lions run game, pressured Goff all night and batted down eight passes. We needed them to lose.

I wouldn't say that. 2021 they blew our doors off on Thanksgiving. Last time we played this QB he lit us up with the Immortal Micah Parsons on the field(what was Bill Barnwells made up stat?)

Not if you actually read it. I think the season is done no matter. Bobby Belt and Rockport are still hanging on and will drag out the glimmer of hope until we're mathematically out if it.

I wouldn't place any bets on it.

It's not so much if they win. It's if they win AND the defense (with all of the additions this week) starts to look semi-competent. Something like a 35-10 result would get my attention.

Even if the Cowboys finished the season strong and went 6-2 the rest of the way I don't think that will be enough to grab a wild card spot, but it is solid momentum to build on in getting ready for 2026.

I certainly want to believe this season can be salvaged, but when you look at the schedule, do the math, and the product on the field it's hard to see them stringing together 7 or 8 wins in a row to make the playoffs.

Plus the refs kept calling PI's on our CB's all game! I forgot who our CB was, but he had multiple flags. Some of them were bogus. Maybe a couple were legit.

Nothing wrong with merely a "glimmer" of hope until the math says otherwise.

But for America's Team merely making the playoffs with a team with little chance of making it past the Wild Card round, is a bar to low for me to accept as the standard for a good year
