I didn't realize the Cowboys opened a gap in the division either. Who wrote that we did for the entire division?

If I'm not mistaken, the Smurfs beat us twice last year. Hardly a gap. We can make a million excuses, but the score board was n their favor both games. I think we are better, but we need to put it on tape.

What does it matter? Both the Giants and the Cowboys will do all they can to improve this off-season almost regardless of any perceived or unperceived gap in talent between the two.

I think the Cowboys are a slight step ahead of the Giants and Eagles, but the reality is that one injury, one bad decision, one player significantly improving, etc. - for any of the 3 teams - could dramatically change the whole division.

The Giants will have a little bit of an edge over Dallas this year with the schedule, though that might not be as big of a deal with Warner retiring and Favre an eternal maybe.

That's fine. Remember what happened to the last NFC east team whose GM ran off his mouth about us.

there is no gap in this division. Anyone can win in each and every year.

And besides the giants were touted as the great team in the league all offseason last year. Teams that get built up by the dumb media almost always fail.

goofball matt moseley had the giants as one of the best defenses the league has ever seen all spring and summer last year, sporting news said they might be the 85 bears and every lazy journalist just declared the giants the best.

It means nothing. Come september when it all starts over, any of the 4 teams can win the division as always.

But I do look forward to hearing the giants players turn themselves from favorites into underdogs and insult the cowboys and their players again all offseason.

It wont be long before one of the loudmouths up there starts with the garbage.

I agree with everything you said except the bolded statement. Sure "anything's possible", but I don't think the Skins will be on the level of the other 3 teams. JMO

Well, there is no doubt they have a bunch of issues.

But the way the nfl has worked in the last 10 years or so, is that with a new coach 1 early win or 2 early wins is all it takes to spark enough to go on a run.

A new coaching staff seems to give teams a spark lately. Shannahan will fix the offense without a doubt, at what expense to the rest of the team I dont know, But I bet they at least alleviate their defense a little and that could be enough to help them improve enough to compete for the division all year.

Now if they sign two old expensive free agents and bradford then forget it, they dont have a shot at the division.

I definitely think there is a gap. We lost twice to the Giants, but fact is we went 11-5 not even playing to our potential. Other teams are getting worse, where we are still getting better...

Philly is almost certainly in decline, and the Giants are stagnating, and their defense will continue to decline.

The Cowboys are better than the other teams in the East...but the gap came when Plaxico blasted himself in the leg. Jerry has built a great team, but the Giants fell.
