You would think after four years on this board i would know how to get a poll made...:

As for me,

Yes, I believe it is time...

Edit: mods- can we get a third option 'trade him'?...i would not cut him, but i would trade him for any kind of draft pick i could get...

No. Good depth at a cheap price.

Our pass rush was anemic last year. And you want to get rid of one of the players who actually provided pressure?

Sounds like a recipe for success to me

Keep him, but tell him to keep his d$#^ mouth shut. He is not being a leader.

Its simple.

Jerry Jones needs to hire Cesar Millan. Everytime Ellis opens his yap, Millan takes action.

In a couple of days, Ellis will be submissive and wont talk.

Last year when Payton took over the saints 1st thing he did was get rid of player who did not want to be there. I like Ellis but if Ellis does not want to be here then move him.

That was last year.

He is coming off a big injury, he isn't getting any younger and he could be unhappy about his situation.

I still keep him, but its not because he was our "captain."

As a situational pass rusher its worth it to keep him.

If anyone of us were in his position chances are we/YOU would be complaining about money too... get real..

I'd rather just end the relationship. He represents everything that is wrong with our stretch-fading defense, and at this point, it's unlikely that he'll change. He complains about everything from his salary to the way the team plans to use him to who we decide to draft. He's a team "leader", such as it is, and his whiny influence is rubbing off.

I'd rather him be gone - but I understand that might not be reasonable.

Keep this year and let him walk next yr

...assuming Spears, Hatcher, and Canty develop further?

Or that Spencer becomes the answer at OLB?

Or that Carpenter/Burnett take the next step?

Until we have an established pass rush, keep the guy. Unless you want to see McNabb have 20 seconds to unleash hell on our defense again....

I'd love for him to be gone too.

Hell, I'd love for Owens and Adams to be gone as well. Same for Brad Johnson, even though he hasn't played a down in Dallas.

But we really have no viable "other options" for any of those guys. We need them.

And since our main problem last year was lack of a consistant pass rush, it makes little sense to get rid of a guy who actually provided one.

I can't stand his whining, but I want to keep him. He does have real value as a pass rusher.

Yes, let's see how he looks in training camp. If he's lost a step after the injury, then cut him loose, otherwise, we need depth. He was disgruntled last year and was on pace to have one of his best years.

Keep him, he is needed. I wish he would keep his mouth shut, but I just won't listen to it. However, if Spencer looks the real deal, and Carpenter has improvement. By chance if some team needs a LB / DE because of injury, trade him at that point while we can get something. We need his experience, leadership to help the youngsters. his contract is very cap friendly. So again, keep him, but his contract also makes him very tradeable.

I say let him go, I was sick of it last year and had that same opinion.
Then he shut up and played, and I let it go, now we are right back to square 1. Everyone keeps saying he is our team leader, well this aint the kind of leader I want on this team. I am sick of his whining to the media. If he has a problem fine, handle it with Jerry, but this crying to the media thing is lame.

He is coming off an injury, we have no idea if he will ever be the same, he is scared of competition, he is aging, just let him go and move on especially since we have Spencer.
