Go to Receiver?

When you look at most Superbowl teams you find a common denominator in their passing games.

They all have a clutch receiver when those tough 3rd & long situations arise.

This Dallas team doesnt have that in my opinion. TO drops too many passes and Glenn is not a great short pass receiver.

Witten is very good, but not great and TE's are easier to cover than a quality WR.

This is why I think Crayton is crucial to our success. I really expect to see more 3WR sets next year.

In the 90's Emmitt ran from the alignment well at times and Crayton gives Romo the much needed short range target.

So tell me 3rd & 8 with the game on the line, who gets the ball?

I would say TO. I think it would be fair to say that TO's injury caused alot of his drops last season. I'll be willing to bet that if TO can come back from his injury we will see the Philly TO (minus the drama) instead of what we witness last season.

3rd and 8 with the game on the line... I say Witten gets the ball. If I remember right, the last pass of the Seattle playoff game went to Witten to set up the potentially game winning field goal, didn't it? What about the Giants game this year... 1 minute left and Romo throws to Witten for 42 yards to set up the game winning field goal.

I say Witten is the go-to guy.

Let's see TO led every WR in the league in TD's last year so that is my answer. Or Glenn. Or Crayton. Or Witten. Pick your poison.

What a joke of a post! WR was our strength last year... You people over analyze things, too much offseason time.

I cant name a "go to WR"... because Romo was VERY good at getting that 1st down on 3rd down. BAMN = by any means necessary is my answer

i say let all of them run routes and let Romo decide which one is open. QB play makes the WR.

So what was his excuse in the other 10 years when he dropped a lot of passes? The dude has led the league in dropped passes for most of the years he has played.

I would go with Witten right now unless we draft Jarrett.

While I will agree that the excuse is not a good one... I wont agree that he led the league in drops most of the seasons he played... for that you just get an "Oh boy"

That is what I'm hoping for as well. I would like to see him come through in critical situations and be that go to guy. He clearly was not brought to Dallas to be a team spokesman.

I would agree I have never seen the overall stat regarding drops I do know however TO had way too many drops for a guy who is suppose to be our #1 WR. Hopefully that will change this season as he recovers from the hand injury.

Man you're reaching here with this post... Dallas has two number 1 receivers on their team, along with an excellent 3rd receiver. I'm not really following your "genius theory".....

I understand that Doom ..... but the guy had a broke hand that required 2 surgeries during the offseason .....

Just because he is an idiotic jerk does not mean he did not have legitimite reasons for dropping the ball.
