I am curious to see who you guys think the "Big 3" of Goff, Lynch and Wentz most likely resemble TODAY that has come out before them. For example, none of them would be compared to Andrew Luck who was almost universally viewed as a can't miss prospect.

They seem to be more comparable to Brock Osweiler or Mettenberger than than Andrew Luck. This should give us some idea of their comparative worth (or value) in terms of where they should probably be drafted. I think this is a much more valuable exercise than just choosing one because we "won't get another chance to draft this high for years". That is desperation and unsound reasoning.

If this were the draft with Marino, would any of them be drafted in the first 3 rounds? Are these guys the real deal, or just the prettiest girl at a lackluster party? Let's hear your thoughts on the matter.

According to everything I've read, these seem to be the most popular opinions floating around as far as comparisons. Note: these are not my evaluations, just the general consensus from what I've read.

Jared Goff - Matt Ryan

Carson Wentz - Joe Flacco/Alex Smith (but better)

Paxton Lynch - Ryan Tannehill, Brock Osweiler, Ben Roethlisberger Lite

Goff=Bradford or maybe a Chad Pennington

Wentz-= hard to compare because he has every possible tool. I'll say a more athletic Andrew Luck with a bigger arm.

Lynch=Flacco with some mobility.

Wentz - Flacco (Big arm, athletic and played bigger in big games. Small school prospects who need to show they can compete against faster competition)
Lynch - Roethlisbrger (Big, athletic QB's who think pass first, but are very apt at using their legs to escape pressure and make plays while not being real running threats, big arm)
Goff - Ryan (Not the big athletes, but crafty and know how to move in the pocket to avoid the rush. Great touch and location. Surprising arm strength.)

Goff- Brees (smallish, without a great but surgically carves defenses with accuracy and good reads)
Wentz- Tannehill (a lot of tools to like but there are ?'s and uncertainty. could go either way)
Lynch- (Not sure we've ever seen a QB this big that isn't a slow oaf.) Maybe Culpepper?

This.

Goff also reminds me of Alex Smith from his college days. He has turned into a darn good QB most would consider a franchise player.

Judging from the answers.............Im not excited.

That is the dilema isn't it? I'm not trilled w/ any except for Lynch....and that's stretching it.... but you gotta have a guy to pull the trigger. And in all honesty....I think Romo is done. He wasn't playing that great when he wasn't hurt. So you gotta find somebody....Unless your in the minority and think Kellen can get it done.:D

Goff = Aaron Rogers without his mobility. Tough to find a success comp, Goff has a hell of an arm, similar to a Rogers which is pretty rare, but doesn't have the same mobility. There are unsuccessful QBs he reminds me of, Kyle Boller, Blaine Gabbert, ect, but I think what caused them to fail, lied between their ears and that is yet to be determined with Goff.
Wentz/Lynch = Ben Rothlisberger (While Wentz has a stronger arm, I would still say they are more or less the same prospect, with about the same upside) at worst I think both players should be at least Blake Bortles good.

I like the idea of Lynch bein Roethlisberger....shoot ill even take Roethlisberger lite...if ol Big Ben has won 2 SB's, does a lite version give Paxton at least 1?
