I'm for Lynch at 4 at this point, if somehow we end up with Johnny F then put me down for Treadwell. Lb or cb at 4 ain't cutting it for me.

The Titans are going to draft Tunsul to protect Marriota.........they also don't like trading. Chip Kelly offered up 3 first round picks last season to the Titans for the 2nd overall pick to draft Marriota and the Titans gave him the middle finger.

So that leaves Cleveland and San Diego...........even if the Chargers trade out of the pick and both Lynch and Goff are taken at 2 and 3, that sill leaves us with Bosa, the best defensive player in this draft.

I break dance up to the podium to hand the card to the commish myself if Bosa is on the board at pick 4.

Because Titans decided to take Marriota doesn't not mean they they wont trade this year; come on
they got their franchise QB by not trading.San Fran is at 6 they can get Stanley there and get [lets say]
two first or more in the trade

Looking at the top 3 teams and their likelihood to take a QB
  1. Tenn - no need
  2. Cleveland - most likely
  3. San Diego - not likely
Unless there is a trade I would assume Tenn takes the OT, Cleveland has their pick of Goff or Lynch, and San Diego takes another position. So if Dallas wants a QB in this draft we are likely to have that opportunity.

I'm guessing Goff goes to Cleveland and Lynch to Dallas.

I pretty much agree with you.

(1) Titans - I see them taking Tunsil no. 1. Taylor Lewan would be moved from LT to RT to pair with Chance Warmack and Tunsil would start at LT day one. Lewan was a two-time Rimington winner, 1st team All-Big Ten and 1st team All America, but Tunsil is athletically superior to Lewan. He is compared by some to Tyron Smith - strong, great footwork and a physical specimen. Mariota was sacked on 9.3% of his dropbacks (38 sacks, 370 pass attempts) and overall, Tennessee gave up 54 sacks. With a franchise QB entering his second season, Titans go for a potential long-term Pro Bowl left tackle. It's possible the 9ers would seek to move up to this spot to land Goff. To swap picks (no. 7 for no. 1), the 9ers would have to give up, at a minimum, two 2nd round picks and two 3rd round picks. I just don't see Tennessee passing an opportunity on a blue chip, NFL ready left tackle. If SF comes calling, my guess is Tennessee will say no.

(2) Browns - playing in perhaps the most physical division in football, the Browns take the big, strong QB with the big-time arm, Paxton Lynch. Cincy, Pitt and Balt all have physical front sevens. Lynch is 6'7", physically stronger than Goff, and has a cannon for an arm. Physically he is similar in ways to Roethlesberger. Playing in an outdoor stadium with winds off Lake Erie and having to play outdoor road games in cold weather vs. divisional foes, I think Cleveland takes the QB with a right arm that can rival Flacco and Roethlesberger. Goff is left on the board.

(3) Chargers - Rivers will be 34 next season and they may be thinking of his eventual replacement. Goff would fit the bill. But here is where I see SF making a push to jump Dallas and snatch the guy who played in the 9ers backyard. San Diego would get a quality defensive player at no. 7 (perhaps Ramsey) along with additional picks (including at least the 9ers 2nd round pick). If SD keeps their pick, I think they will go defense and if Ramsey is over-valued at the no. 3 pick here, they could go with Bosa. My gut says SF jumps us and gets the QB they covet.

(4) Cowboys - with Lynch and Goff off the board, I think the Cowboys move down if they have a trade partner. The question is, would someone want to move up to take Bosa? If so, I'd like to see the Cowboys get an impact offensive player like Elliott and then try to package picks to move up and get Wentz later in round one. If SD keeps their pick I would not be upset to see Dallas get Goff even though I do think he and Lynch are over-valued in this draft and will be taken higher than their skill level would otherwise warrant (i.e., this is not a strong QB class).

All that said, I would not be upset to see the Cowboys come out of the 1st round with Jack, Robinson or Hargraeves if they move down a few spots. There are a lot of holes to fill. Elliott in the backfield with Romo next season would be pretty sweet, and the Cowboys would resume the physical, pound the rock style they displayed in 2014.

I think if Carson Wentz hadn't been short in high school, he would be the No. 1 pick.

I hope some team offers us 3 1st picks to move up. I would do that trade in an heartbeat.

His mechanics bother me a little bit. He has kind of a long, slow release. I love everything else about him.

Someone posted that a proportionately large number of his throws were screens and stuff, but I've seen him throw deep balls and he's good at it.

Admittedly, I dont follow college ball astutely, but I watched a few highlight clips of Lynch and I dont see this slow windup some people are mentioning. Even surrounded by D lineman trying to get to him, he rares back and throws the ball a country mile without effort. Great touch on the ball too. I just dont see his delivery as a problem. As you mention, he can chuck it all day long without breaking a sweat. Now I will admit on highlight reels they usually dont show the bad stuff. So I may be way off base here, but as an average layman just checking out highlights, I like what I see and dont see what many are talking about, but I am no scout nor student of the man by any means.

Note: This was supposed to be my reply to a thread titled "Gosselin: If Jerry Jones trades down from No. 4 pick, he hasn't learned a thing about drafting," but after I typed it all up and tried to post it I got an error. Now I can't find that thread anywhere, so I'll post it here since this thread comes closest.

I saw a mock draft (I know, I know, they're just speculation) in which the Cowboys stayed at 4 and drafted a cornerback, and Paxton Lynch fell to the 49ers. **** that ****. If Paxton Lynch is available at #4, I want the team to grab him. I don't care if he sits a year or two behind Romo learning the system. I don't believe in the idea that a rookie QB should necessarily start immediately. He can wait in the wings in case Tony goes down again. If Lynch isn't available, then pick the next best QB prospect. I like Connor Cook a lot, but I haven't seen Jared Goff play. Draft whichever one is better. I wish I could blast with a billyhorn into Jerry's ear, "Time to draft a quarterback." Last offseason I wanted to blast, "Weeden's not a good enough backup," but he kept him. At #4 we might not be able to get Lynch because Cleveland will probably do their annual drafting of a quarterback that they later fail to properly develop. Of course, there's no guarantee that one of those three top QB prospects will work out for us, but nothing in life is guaranteed. It's time to draft Romo's replacement. That seems painfully obvious, but I won't be too terribly shocked if Jerry "Two Number ones for Galloway" Jones doesn't see that.

My thoughts on picking up Manziel: NO! In two years or so he'll be Ryan Leaf's cell mate.

I cant help but think the front office trust that we will have a healthy productive Tony Romo for at least 3 more years....and we may actually.

If we really believe this then it would not surprise me at all to see them not draft a QB in the 4 slot. If they believe a guy like Carson Wentz is a raw version of Lynch then why not fill other needs on the team while we still have Romo...

The key will be how they feel about these other QB's. AND with our coaches being at the senior bowl it will give them a chance to really evaluate a guy like Wentz.

It sucks that we will be in suspense with this nasty taste in my mouth for several months still.

I'm no scout either, so my opinion is just that, my opinion. But watch video of Romo or Aaron Rodgers or heck, Jared Goff, and then go back and look at Lynch. The first three guys don't "rare back" to throw the ball. They see where they want to put it and it's gone. Lynch has a little bit of a loop in his mechanics, and it adds time to his delivery. I mean, he's not Byron Leftwitch, but his release is a little sluggish. Osweiler had the same issue coming out of school. He's much quicker now.

I do like Lynch. He has a live, accurate arm. He has great escapeability and nice touch on the long ball. I just like Goff a little more.
