Going To Need 35 Next Week

How do you figure?
Tough environment for any team to play in. Cowboys defense looks a little shaky right now with a nicked up DL and their centerfielder nursing an injury. The success of the Saints D with keeping the Cowboys off the field and forcing a couple of turnovers will be the key. Should be a really good contest.

to beat the Saints in the Voodoo Lounge. Cowboys D is struggling at all three levels and the Saints may easily put 30 on the board.

No they aren't.

One of the best in the league at stopping 3rd down conversions.

They may have some issues here & there, but overall it's been a better than average effort.

Against Teddy Bridgewater? LOL

The Saints scored 13 non-offensive points yesterday and 13 points on VERY short fields after failed 4th down attempts. They drive the field exactly ONCE for 7 points.

The TEAM managed to put up 33 in one of the tougher places in the league to play. I didn't see them beating Seattle on the road.

As long as Eli Apple is out there trying to cover I feel confident we'll win. Tavon and Gallup may be back as well. I like the Cowboys 31-17 over the Saints.

Sure, but it was an anomaly. It’s unheard of to score 33 points with only 250 yards of total offense. You can’t count on ST and defensive TDs. Seattle got so far behind due to those they got desperate and kept failing on 4th down. Had that game played out in any sort of normal way the Saints would have had 250 or so total yards and around 10 points and almost certainly lost.

This matchup will be strength vs strength. The saints strength right now is defense and ours is offense. Both teams have notable standouts on the opposite side of the ball as well. In the end we get the W, something like 35 to 24

Bridgewater threw for less than 200 yards yesterday.

True. But he played a mistake-free game.

I think our defense will give up points, but MOST importantly, we need to not give the Saints more opportunities by committing turnovers or special teams meltdowns.

If we can stop the run like last time and get off the field on Defense. We can get out to a 2 or 3 score lead and chew the clock...

they said that last year and our D bowed up and what was the final score like13-10?? each game is different..could be a lot of running and defense from both sides, shortens game lowers the score..

my guess is we win a close one 17-13

The Saints will do their homework on the Cowboys and they will figure out fast that Byron Jones is not to be messed with. Chidobe Awuzie is the guy they will pick on early and often. I'm hoping Richard puts Jourdan Lewis in for Chidobe, at least then the WRs will have to make an honest play rather than getting interfered with every play. The defense will have to play its best game to date this season or the Saints will eat their lunch.

I have a feeling the game will not resemble last year's contest at all. My bet is Payton will look for a shoot out by deploying a mostly dink and dunk offense relying on RAC yards. They are going to want the Cowboys to play catch up and pass the ball more hoping to get a good pass rush and force some mistakes.

Why 35? The Saints offense scored what, 20 points yesterday?

I think in every game one of your keys to success is "don't give up 2 D/ST touchdowns."

Painful to watch so many try to respond to this thread as if the OP was really concerned with the Defense. For openers, he states that we have to score 35 when we only scored 31 against the WORST defense in the league, so that's debunked.

The real purpose of the thread is to create a false narrative that the Defense is atrocious when in fact they gave up a whole 6 points Sunday. Some posters are terrified of how the offense will look against a Defense not ranked 28 or worse. All these threads about, "Dak is the Best QB in the NFL" and "We missed the playoffs before after starting 3-0" are all about the realization that the Hype may not live up to reality and some are experiencing Night Terrors and pillow biting.

Desperation and fear breed some good stuff on here.
