I never watched the cartoon, never played with the toys, so I did not have a ton of background on the Transformers...having said that, it was the best big movie of the summer for me. It was fun, over the top, and a perfect popcorn movie.

Wife dragged me to it for the 4th time today. We took my nephew this time. I can honestly same I'm pretty burnt out on the movie...at least the first hour. The humor is only funny so many times, and the flaws are starting to bug me. Once Prime and company show up though, all is well. I'm thinking of getting the DVD version along with the Blu-Ray just so I can edit a few things.

I was so unimpressed with the movie

1st the camera angles on the fight scenes where bad making the screen cluttered taking away from the cool effects of the fights

2nd the Story line was pathetic the Cartoon did a better job when it came to story line (yes the one from the 80's)

So many other things that made me go ugh; They did a crap job all the way around!!! Well except for the hot chick I will give them that they did get that right

Overall, I liked it.

It had it's flaws, no doubt but it was a good experience regardless. Naming the parts I was disappointed in would be spoiling the movie for those who haven't watched it so I'll just say the Autobots seemed kinda weak during the fights.

totally agree... most of the times in the fights, I couldn't tell who was the autobot and who was the decepticon. It was just a mish mash of robot parts tumbling down the road.

Your typical Michael Bay film, but this one was more believable because for the most part it wasn't humans surviving all of the explosions. Overall I enjoyed it.

How could you anyway, except for a few exceptions (Optimus Prime, BumbleBee) they were all just a gray mass.

I find it very easy to know who was who in the fights and didn't have any confustion at all. I don't see how it is difficult to tell them apart, they each have their own look to them. If all else fails, just go by color:

Optimus: Red/Blue
Bumblebee: Yellow with a bit of orange
Ironhide: Black
Jazz: Gray
Ratchet : Yellow with a hint of green

The only two possible to get confused are Bumblebee and Ratchet, and if you pay attention to what is going on in the movie it is impossible not to know which is which when it gets to the action.

Decepticons are colored more similarly, but really rarely is more than one involved in anything at one time.

I haven't seen it yet, but no way the fight scenes are worse than the football games in Any Given Sunday.

in the later parts they do, but when bumble and barricade duke it out for the first time, you get a sense that bumble is a fighter pure and simple

I saw it the day after it opened, ie the 4th. We here at Kirtland AFB have a special interest in the movie. The H-53 Pavelow thats used in the movie was part of the wing here as are the Osprey's they used in the movie. All the filming in "Qatar" was at Holloman AFB. Matter of fact the hologram pilot in the pave, the raptor, and something else, "moustache man" as he's called in the credits is a pilot here, Maj. Brian Reece

Needless to say I loved the movie, I think everyone here at work thats seen it has nothing but good things to say about it

I loved the military involvement in the movie. I know Bay had full support. I loved the scene when they were sending help to the guys in the desert showing all the stuff the military guys do to coordinate something like that. I wish they would have continued along those lines and involved military intelligence instead of the silly early 20's computer analyst/hacker stuff. That was by far the biggest annoyance for me. That and the horrible sec. of defense stuff.

I should have figured that out when i saw those stealths that they filmed part of it at Holloman AFB. I spent over 2 months there when they where transferring the stealths to the base. They had a bunch of them in temporary hangars and I would get out of bed and look down the runway area to see some of them doing touch and go's or being worked on.

It was around 1992 when that happened
