With injuries on the rise in NFL and teams going to 4 and 5 WR sets. Having just 2 good CBs is not enough.

The Packers used to have a philosophy under Ron Wolf to draft a quarterback every year and always have one developing.

I think it's a good idea to draft at least one cornerback every year, maybe two. Every year in free agency, the good cornerbacks are in high demand (Nate Clements last year), sending their price tag through the roof.

Totally agree, Chief.

All these spread offenses -- and the rules protecting and encouraging them -- are relatively recent developments, and it's it's caught most teams off guard. So you need more corners than ever. One way to get them is to draft talented but raw players in the mid- and late rounds and develop their technique in practice for a year or so.

BTW, Wade said today that they'd wanted to get Alan Ball up to the real team for a while now, and they thought he had a bright future.
