Wait, what does this mean?I told the mods if we got rid of Smith I'll never ask for my job back!!!!!! Lol
This.In all seriousness, getting his contract off the books helps alot
You know a lot about people giving up on you, so yeah I'll give this up I don't know why I'm saying this it would mean everything to meWait, what does this mean?
Are you giving up on your dream?
That's true but not necessarily have to cut him even though yes you can cut him for zero dead cap space but maybe he knows that maybe he wants to be here we get to see eight games of what Matt does with those 3 it's possible he gives us a very team friendly deal he's not a young pup maybe he wants to play alongside Williams I think he's playing better than OSA People don't see it but I noticed and I know they're both being doubled a lot but we get to see now for eight games Matt experimenting with the front seven the linebackers and the defensive front we get to see it all he should be able to play freely and experiment every game trying to come up with what would it look like next year...I liked the trade. He’s got a couple years left on his deal and when they cut Clark that is almost exactly what Williams salary is next year so doesn’t really affect cap space. Some fans complain about a problem then complain when you address the problem. He’s the best DT we’ve had in a long time. Get some edge help and the pass rush could be pretty good and he plays the run well
That's open for interpretation we need to see what he looks like in this rotation now or next to each other but he's gonna have to rework his deal Team friendly or yes he's gone he has zero dead cat hit for the Cowboys if cut you have to let him go If he doesn't restructure and take less money. They are not cutting Clark. Clark at 1 and Williams at 3 will be among the best DT combos in Cowboys history.
They have eight games to figure this out and they take a talk to Clark if he fits if he plays well in this mix for the next eight games maybe he restructures to a team friendly deal maybe he wants to stay....This does make Clark better, too, I think. Don't forget, we have Toia and Winfrey to develop. I like Williams. Just think he cost too much. Oh well. Now we can move past the DT issue and draft some play makers.
Next, they need to unload Osa. What do they do with him?
My deal is the cost unless next year is the year you go on a run, which I think it is..
To me Clark future is tied to Pickens future here. If we keep him we will likely need the cap space. If he’s not then Clark could stayThat's true but not necessarily have to cut him even though yes you can cut him for zero dead cap space but maybe he knows that maybe he wants to be here we get to see eight games of what Matt does with those 3 it's possible he gives us a very team friendly deal he's not a young pup maybe he wants to play alongside Williams I think he's playing better than OSA People don't see it but I noticed and I know they're both being doubled a lot but we get to see now for eight games Matt experimenting with the front seven the linebackers and the defensive front we get to see it all he should be able to play freely and experiment every game trying to come up with what would it look like next year...
I wouldn't write off Clark yet I like him But if he wants to leave for sure you don't keep him you do a June 1st cut let him walk I don't want any drama that includes Pickens, I know I know people don't want to hear it... But we can get a lot of resources and extra money for the defense and I feel our offense is just fine without a thirty million dollar WR two..
Flournoys up and coming should get all the WR3 snaps the last 8 games.. see what hes got.. And you draft another wide receiver hell I'd like to see Holden remember him You know the pet cat the training camp hero.
Kidding and I think Turpin is doing more harm than good as a receiver and I think they need to only use him sparingly on offense but keep him on special teams Sit Tolbert...
This is the time of the year when you realize there isn't a lot of big accomplishments that can happen that you start seeing what these players can do That way we have a better idea what we need next year...
Cost to cut Osa, his 26 salary is guaranteed. Saves almost the exact amount to pay Williams if you cut ClarkThey are not cutting Clark. Clark at 1 and Williams at 3 will be among the best DT combos in Cowboys history.
I don't know about that we gotta talk about Jevante Williams other things, we haven't even signed Aubrey yet, they have to do what's best for the team, and i'm sure they will do that..To me Clark future is tied to Pickens future here. If we keep him we will likely need the cap space. If he’s not then Clark could stay
He was showing improvement with Zimmer. Looked like a rookie but it was a better fit than the other two up the field systems.
Pickens I believe is gonna be complicated and personally I think tagging him would be a mess. He’s no Michael but he’s a great compliment to lamb. I’d love to keep him but not for Lamb type money. To me Aubrey is a no brainer. If you give him top kicker money it’s still not huge money. Williams has been great but I wonder if he’s gonna get expensive. He and Dowdle are both FA, not sure who else but the more the better for keeping him or a good replacement. It’s gonna be a wild off season because we’ve added some pieces on D that should help but we have to figure out the secondary too. We have to hit in the draft this year. Can’t have another Mazi type pick. Whichever way we go it has to be two really good picks. I think Jerry thinks we can get in playoffs this year, and while it’s possible it would require almost winning them all. The good thing is both trades are guys with 2 or more years left on their deals so just got to be right building around them. We still go into next year with lots of nerds, guys we should move on from and must do a little something in FA but we have to get the draft rightI don't know about that we gotta talk about Jevante Williams other things, we haven't even signed Aubrey yet, they have to do what's best for the team, and i'm sure they will do that..
They can't fall in love with anyone and can't be afraid and I like what they did even though I wanted Parsons here that was where all this started and they're going to be doing it again this offseason making tough decisions may not even be fan favorites..... This place is going to lose itself if they trade Pickens and I say that they're not looking at the big picture..
In my opinion the main goal is to have the triangle on both sides of the ball and that does not include 2 #1 wide receivers...
The triangle is having a good quarterback a good run game and one good wide receiver you remember they called that the triplets that is what you need but you need the offensive line to be blocking well in order for that to work you do not need two number one wide receivers and anyone who wants to contest that man the most overrated player on the 90s team's is Alvin Harper he was not that good He just benefited you could turn a guy like Flournoy into him...
Not to say he didn't make big plays but he was not George Pickens he was not another Michael Irvin..
Same on defense you gotta have one dominant defensive lineman preferably a tackle nose tackle or D tackle like Aaron Donald with one really good linebacker and one really good corner and you fill in the rest that's the two triangles it's three players on each side of all that have to be great and then you can build around them...
That would be the core of the offense and defense.... I've always called it the triangle but people called it their triplets but you need that on both sides of the ball that's where you start that's your foundation....
Why would it be a mess you do realize that all they have to do is sit them down and say look we have plans to tag you so that way we can get more for you but you're more than free to go find the trade if he's as good as people say he is if he's as great as people say he is he should have a problem finding a team willing to pay the franchise tag fee whatever that tender is it's not any different than a guy seeking a trade while he's under contract you're just putting him under contract by franchise tagging him you're not asking him to stay attached here You're just saying we're gonna tag you so we can get more for you and he'll have to deal with it i'm not saying he should play on the franchise tag he should be free to find a team which should be easy or we can match it depends on which tender.Pickens I believe is gonna be complicated and personally I think tagging him would be a mess. He’s no Michael but he’s a great compliment to lamb. I’d love to keep him but not for Lamb type money. To me Aubrey is a no brainer. If you give him top kicker money it’s still not huge money. Wouldn’t that make three $20+ million per season DTs? How many teams can boast the same? They are not cutting Clark. Clark at 1 and Williams at 3 will be among the best DT combos in Cowboys history.
