Good news is that JJ already had Plan B figured

out . . . .

Though maybe it would have been better to have known a week or so ago, it's not like JJ/Stephen are unprepared.

It wouldn't surprise me if we know the new HC within the next week (unless it's Rivera, of course).

I feel like we'll already have a new coach by the end of this week or early next week.

I know everyone thinks JJ is an idiot... but I think its naive to think that he hadn't already made a list of HC candidates between the Seattle game and now.

I think it was Mickey who said it. He said there was a plan b in place.

How do you know?

Because JJ said he had a Plan B in case BP wasn't returning.

I think this was stated a week or two ago.

I thought it was JJ who said it. But maybe you're right and it was Mickey.

I dont think they stated that it was factual that they knew there was a plan B. I think they were saying that you can bet JJ has a plan B in place. Just in case BP does not come back.

Money is on JJ having something up his sleeve.

For them saying they knew - Pure speculation on the reporters part.

I posted this earlier but I think the fact that Zimmer left is a pretty good indication that JJ probably has something in the works.

Zimmer would have been the most logical in house candidate to interview. Jerry thought enough of him to keep him from leaving in years past. If you were Zimmer, would you have left (for basically the same job in Atlanta) Knowing that the Cowboy job might come available?

That, to me, tells more about the situation then anything.

I agree. Last week Jones did say that they were prepared for what ever Bill may choose to do.

I read a Peter King Column that Parcells told JJ 48 Hours ago.

Guessing you mean Singletary.

Which seems unlikely as well.

I posted a week ago that a guy who is around VR all the time said this would happen and that Jerry "definitely" had a plan. He didn't say who the new coach would be but Norv Turner's name was dropped.

I'm not saying it's Norv because I don't know.

I think it will be JJ at his best and announce the new coach on Super Bowl Sunday.

I'd be more willing to bet he'd announce it on the day before...so all you hear about leading up to the game is the Cowboys new coach. He knows that if he did it on Sunday, it would have to go to the backburner for the game itself. Just my thoughts :)

He also said BP was coming back. It always worries me when these type of plans are supposedly in the back pocket. If he was so prepared why did he say he would say something today and then fly out of town to the Sr Bowl? It didn't seem like he expected this at all.

I'm fine with Norv being OC, but not head coach, please no.

Once the assistants started to leave and Parcells let them, JJ saw the writing on the wall...

When he couldn't answer DeHaven's question about his situation, JJ saw the writing on the wall...

He's a lot of things, but stupid ain't one of them...

Of course they have a contingency plan for Parcells...
