then again, who does?

what...you mean qbs dont like to throw in conditions that arent warm, with dry footballs, and little wind...what's next? will they want clear throwing lanes, 5+ seconds to decide the open receiver...what has this game come to????

You know by now that all negative observations about NFL QBs only apply to Tony Romo.

I disagree. Against Philly @ Philly in '07 when Romo torched the Eagles, it certainly was not warm that November night.

I think it's more of a December and postseason thing. We've seen decent weather in December and beyond in Dallas and Romo has been unimpressive.

We're at NY and at Washington in December, so there will be cold.

Hope for a breeze. The New Jersey fans all bemoan the fact that Eli cannot throw in much of any kind of wind. Cold doesn't bother him much, but he doesn't really seem to possess the ability to adjust his throws to compensate for either cross winds or at his back.

Dude has small hands. Also, it's harder to grip the ball in the cold since your skin is dry. These two factors conspire against Romo.

I don't know about the cold weather thing. It normally doesn't effect a QB, unless it comes with a strong wind, ie Cleveland or Buffalo. I could see the wet ball having some effect on a QB that has a quick release, like Romo. The explosive arm motion could cause a small amount of slip between the fingers and the ball, which could cause some accuracy problems, as opposed to the elongated motion of a Leftwich or a Big Ben.

I'm not a science major.

Very few "warm weather" QBs throw well in the cold.

Why?

There's less blood circulating in your hands when it's cold, thus the feeling of holding the ball is different.

"Cold weather QBs" get used to this feeling so it's not a big difference for them in games.

"Warm weather QBs" usually just experience this difference during the games, so it is much more of a difference.

depends on how they got... never mind.

As per the cold weather, I am pretty sure eastern Illinois plays in the cold and Romo is from wisconsin.

The cold theory is a bad one.

Eastern definitely plays in nasty cold weather. It is the cold, but it's moreso the wind that effects throwing in those type of conditions IMO.

Not the temp that concerns me as much as the wind. You get those cold windy days which I'm not sure if the graph is taking that into account vs just colder weather.

All of the game weather data was derived from NFL.com GameBooks from each particular game. Gameday temperatures are only indicated within the graphs.

If wind was also listed for games, those numbers are shown in the index at the bottom. Many of the GameBooks did not list wind and are indicated by the UNK abbreviation. Other conditions such as 'weather' and humidity are also shown, but if the data wasn't available, an 'n/a' is displayed for that category.

Only two of the GameBooks listed wind chill factors and those were the two Giants' games which were played in the Meadowlands. If memory serves, the wind chills were 45 and 38 degrees respectively for those two games. Since there were only two games mentioning wind chill, I decided to exclude those from the index.
