Watt is a beast no doubt but it takes a team to win. We don't have a talent like Watt on defense and held Atlanta to less points, plus had Weeden at QB.

Dick Butkus made HOF on a short career. Check out the Bears record while he was there. If Watt played for Dallas he'd be royalty.

Whoe exactly has ever said that, especially on here? Your embellishments serve no purpose.

I would offer the idea that maybe they could trade him for the first pick next year......but they may have the first pick anyway!

Watt is like every other defensive player in the NFL -- totally dependant on the QB who leads the other side of the ball for real success in the NFL.

Well if things continue like this in Houston hopefully Watt will go somewhere that he actually has a quarterback.

Atlanta wouldn't have scored 49 points on Houston because I heard it here that they only need Watt to win playoff games and have a great defense. ......

But I have been told he is the best payer in the league and don't know what to believe any more.

Oh but not when talking about the Cowboys right. It's all about how bad the defense is right

So you must think the Giants defense can thank Eli for those 2 Super Bowls?

Eli threw 15 TDs vs 2 Interceptions collectively in the 2007 and 2011 Giant Super Bowl runs.

Frankly, he had two of the most spectacular runs by a NFL QB in Super Bowl history.

Are you arguing that he was in someway not fantastic in those Super Bowl runs?

great player, horrible team

Explain then why most of y'all say Watt only loses because of their QB but our defense lost the game. Would it not be the same. Watt team gave up almost 10 more points then ours but yet we are missing way more starters and impact players on defense

Frankly, I don't understand these threads criticizing JJ Watt threads are coming from.

I really this is an internet forum at all and debate / discourse is encouraged, but WHY waste any breath arguing that Watt is anything other than the best defensive player in the entire NFL and leave it that.

While we are at it why don't we start the thread back up that ran 15 pages long criticizing Aaron Rodgers's play when trailing by more 9 points or more in the 4th quarter of games?
