Anyone jut see Goodell on ESPN, he all but said Jones was back.

He basically said if what he told me is right, and he understands what he has to do, then he may get a chance to play. But the way he said it, he made it sound like Jones had already done everything he needed to do, and just needed to understand that going forward he'd be on a very short leash.

No he didnt, he said he would reconsider his case before training camp. Pacman just needs to stay out of trouble between now and then.

Berman asked if he would be playing this year and Goodell said, "Fo shizzle."

Berman: Pacman Jones traded to Dallas. Where does he stand?
Goodell: Adam and I have met at various times over the year. He was originally suspended for a year. He was going to get to go back to Tennessee to work out after the season was over, but he had another incident that was inconsistent with what he told me (so he wasn't allowed to workout in the offseason). Now the trade has taken place. I have given him my word that I will reconsider his case prior to training camp. If he's lived up to his responsibility and what he's told and he understands what he has to do to make better decisions going forward, then may get a chance to resume his career.

Berman: Maybe as soon as the beginning of the season?
Yes. Of course. I left it open by the fact that I said "before training camp" as a possibility.

sounded to me that unless Pac man does something stupid between now and then he will be ready to go by training camp....

Berman asked if he would be ready by the season and the commish sounded like he would be ready by trainig camp if Pacman behaves his self

Thanks for the info, theogt. Your post was more helpful to me than the other one, FWIW. Sounds like Pacman will indeed be reinstated and might even be available to join the team for pre-T.C. stuff.

Goodell has been pretty consistent about not saying yes but implying that Jones will be reinstated as long as he stays out of trouble.

Agreed, not too worried about personally.
