Dez as the best player available. I just don't believe he'll fall - at the very least, someone will move up to get him.

I'm still a believer in Roy, but with a group that's strong already, it doesn't make much sense.
Austin
Williams
Crayton
Bryant
OTree
plus Witten and the RBs
There are only so many footballs to go around.

See who is ranked No. 1 over the past three years? Gosselin. It's been that way pretty much over every three-year period since THR has been grading mock drafts. And he has had THE No. 1 top 100 every single year.
Goose is good for two things: his top 100 and his mock drafts. His draft grades, on the other hand, are a big pile of garbage.

And the Bengals would be stupid not to take it.

InmanRoshi;3359818 said:If the Cowboys have researched Bryant's problems and don't have a problem with it, and apparently according to Stephen he hasn't been taken off their board, you take Bryant and don't think twice about it. You can find safeties anywhere in the draft. Rarely if ever do you have a Top 10 talent land in your lap at 27.
Personally, I don't think he gets past New England at 22. In this scenerio, the Cowboys could use Marty B as trade ammo for Cincy's #21 pick. Maybe even Spears too .... Zimmer coached him here, and they could use a strong side end as Odom is recovering from a ruptured achilles or maybe even slide Spears down to a 3 tech defensive end. Cincy could then take Mays or Nate Allen at 27. Cincy's 3 biggest needs are TE, S and DE ... they could address all three with one pick. Dallas gets to move up 6 spaces to take their superstar WR and still have all their remaining picks to address FS and OT in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. It makes so much sense on paper it could never, never, never happen in the real world.
starfrombirth;3360091 said:Roshi, this would never happen. Cinci's WR needs are even bigger than ours. All they have left is an aging Ocho Cinco. And why would we do that for a wr when that isn't our issue. Our offensive woes came from not being able to punch it in when we got close to the goal line. That is an issue of the oline thus we take Iupoti or Pouncy. If by some god given chance Earl Thomas falls then you take him. His talent and instincts are phenomenol. I think he is better than Berry. But either way, if safety is what the team is looking at then we have to look at trading down or picking at #27. There is not a single safety that will last until our pick in the 2nd that is better or even as good as what we have. Sorry but we have to pull the trigger and not wait.

I know Gosselin is supposedly the most accurate mock drafter there is...but this list looks off to me, especially with Earl Thomas going at #22 and Dallas moving up to select Dez Bryant.
I think there is a good possibility that we would draft Bryant if he just happened to fal in our laps, but WR is not a position of need for us right now. Safety and OL most definitely are, and I find it much more likely that we address one of those positions in the first round than WR.
Besides, unless Jerry was blowing smoke (possible), he already stated that he liked where we're at regarding WR, and that a first round pick at that position was doubtful. I agree with that assessment, especially with one of the best receivers in the league as our #1 (Austin), and another receiver that we have $9mil already tied up in this season who was SUPPOSED to be our #1. Let's also not forget about our young up-n-commer Ogeltree, who I think deserves more chances to produce this year as well.
Moving up for Bryant just doesn't make any sense to me, even if he is an incredible talent. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out tomorrow...
starfrombirth;3360119 said:I'm just not sold on Bryant being better than what we have here but Cinci's corp (even with A. Bryant) is nothing special. I don't see the disparity being so huge that Cinci would be willing to let someone else draft him. But that's just me.
