Here is Gosselin's quote:

"I saw John Elway as a rookie. I saw Jim McMahon, Dan Marino, Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson as rookies.

But what I saw from Dak Prescott this season is something I've never seen in the 43 years I've been reporting on the NFL. I saw the greatest rookie season by any quarterback in league history."

It's been a special year to remember. Hopefully the excellent play by Dak and the rest of the team will continue in the playoffs.

Of course he has probably had the best rookie season ever, would be hard to argue otherwise. I hope he hasn't reached his max potential and keeps growing. We need him to go strong for 10+ years :D
Dakota AND Ezee don't have quit in them.

Expect continuous improvement........May not be this year for the SB, but it's coming.

It's infectious and they'll settle for nothing less from the starting roster.

We're going to see a changed man, leadership-wise, in the near future........ he'll demand performance.

Agree, he has the IT factor...as does Zeke. He has things ya can't teach like poise and moxie. Even if he doesn't get much better, it won't be due for lack of trying.

I think we are in good hands

No doubt his understanding of the game and reading defenses will only get better. The way he can read defenses now and adjusting at the line is amazing in itself.

You may want to change your title to reflect what he actually said instead of what you were thinking when you typed it...

I would say that he's had the greatest regular season of any rookie quarterback. But he needs to at least win a playoff game to have the greatest overall rookie season.
4th round........ mediocre defense, at best.

Very tough conference.

He'll be alright.

I think having the greatest rookie QB season could be valid.

That's not the same as be the greatest rookie QB. A lot of things come into play to allow someone to have a great season. Insert Dak into Cleveland...still Dak but not the greatest season, for example. Insert Peyton (or Ben, or someone lese, take your pick) onto Dallas' current team...well...you get the picture.

But yes, there's a great argument for saying Dak has had the greatest rookie season by a QB.

Gosselin may be right for the first time in two years on something!

You mean he had the greatest rookie season (which Goss said), not the greatest rookie qb in history, that what you mean?
Well, yes, that's what he said at the very least. Now what he meant, I have no idea because the column was such a mess. Which is no surprise because Gosselin has been a football mental midget for a long time. Why he would try to compare the statistics of a QB from this year to Terry Bradshaw, who played FORTY-SIX years ago, is beyond me. Gee Rick, do you think the game has changed any since then? It's pretty embarrassing.

I read it as what he meant.

Listen up. You put Big Ben or Peyton on this team as a rookie and they don't do better. They do worse.
